I use the TC KJV because I like the references and I'm more familiar w/it.

Seriously, I also recommend the Maxwell Leadership Bible to all church leaders. It is a phenomenal, practical Bible that has really enriched my ministry.
My hubby has a Maxwell Leadership Bible that I use alot. I also love my Woman's Life Bible, which is put out by Nelson and is a NKJV. This one may get me stoned on here, but for everyday reading, I enjoy the NLT.

Why would this get you stoned?

I just figure the KJV only crowd would think the NLT is heresy!

I like to read it and have the KJV handy to compare.

The NLT is more of a 'dynamic equivalence' and is therefore more of a paraphrase than a translation. It's good to measure it by a more formal or literal translation as you are doing.
