Still reading through the Aimee Temple McPherson. There is no mention of her Oneness roots. Looks like they must have been in Canada.

I have been working on this project since 2014. Today was the very first time of any mention of hair, dresses or makeup by anyone. It was in a 1926 interview with Aimee McPherson. She would not say it was a sin.

I wonder if Oneness churches interacted with her revivals ? There has been no mention of them so far. She did not preach for Harry Morse.

She went outside early on. She was Charismatic before it had a name. Thomas Watts did the same.

Senior moments are a part of life.

In 1909 and 1910, Aimee McPherson was part of the Durham Mission in Chicago. 1910-1911 she was in China. In 1913, she was on the east coast, courting her second husband. By 1914-1915, she was on the road as an evangelist.

Since Durham passed away in 1912, and Arroyo Seco was in 1913, her roots may have been at the Durham Mission, but they were not Oneness.

Or am I missing something ?

She was for a season associated with A. D. Urshan.

I am not certain but I seem to remember the roots of her work in LA were originally connected with Urshan.

He was in LA for a revival in March of 1918. He was still there in May. She arrived in LA in December of 1918.

I contacted Urshan’s great grandson who pastors outside Memphis his family believes that through family recollections but has no documentations. To be clear they believe Urshan turned his work over to McPherson.
