Quit being a Catholic doctrine defender.
Next you are going to start praying to saints.

Of course we have plenty of arguments and proof texts for this doctrine.
in our point of view the Law of Moses with all its commandments were done away with the cross.
However the law of God (The Ten Commandments) was reaffirmed by Jesus by his words in the Sermon on the Mount and by the words throughout the New Testament.

If this interpretation were true how do we explain this? Many years AFTER the cross?
Acts 21:17-26
17And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly. 18And the day following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present. 19And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry. 20And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law: 21And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs. 22What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come. 23Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them; 24 Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law. 25As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication. 26Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an offering should be offered for every one of them.
The Jews were still doing THE WHOLE LAW. The law of Moses.

Nah, I just believe Paul's words about it.

First I would ask, "are you a Jew or Gentile?" Did not Paul state that he would become all things to all men to save a few? That is just what he was doing in this passage.
So what if the Jews in Jerusalem were still doing the whole law of Moses. That does not mean it was still in effect for them.

The Ten Commandments do represent eternal moral principles. However, Paul boils even the Ten Commandments down to a single law... love. Notice, Paul even begins to explain this by listing the Ten Commandments...
Romans 13:8-10 (ESV)
8 Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. 9 For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. The Christian isn't bound by any OT Law, period. The Christian is bound by the Law of Love. This law asks two things of the born again believer...
1.) Love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength.
2.) Love your neighbor as yourself. We demonstrate our love for God when we live a life of love towards others. Not by dress codes, wearing in foil hats, eating only jelly beans, by changing our socks only on Thursdays, or any other carnal religious practice. Love alone fulfills the eternal moral principles of the law.
LOVE.

BLASPHEMER! Don't you know the Scripture that says, "man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Jelly Bean from God". Surely you have the JBV (Jelly Bean Version) that shows how that Scripture was truly meant to be interpreted.
Give me a soap box, brothers. I must preach the Jelly Bean Gospel! Hallelujah!

Re: Which OT laws apply to us today?
I previously posted about re: "the commandment with a curse":
someone else posted, rightly so, re: "the commandment with a promise."
The curse is, of course, that if we eat of the tree of good and evil, we SHALL die.
So...is every TRUE Christian exempt from that curse if he sins?
Or is he exempt once he "...confess our sins..."? That means he is in danger
of the penalty of death until he repents and confesses, or...?
Or what is the difference between a "commandment" and a "Law"?
