If the turkeys are large, say 20 or 25 pounds, I bake them in the oven.

I breast the ducks the same way a grouse is cleaned.

I do eat the game I harvest. Unless it is a canine.

Duck hunting has been productive this year. Mainly wood ducks and mallards. I will probably clean shooting lanes at the deer blind. I will probably set out a few fox traps.

I love this time of year.

We got some wood and mallards. My teenage son is really getting into waterfowl, buying decoys and everything. He's got some geese near our home also.

Our geese do not show up till season is over. Our stream does not freeze. So when the lakes are ice covered, they use our stream.

I need to get out today. But I am not as young as I once was. It is windy, so I have an idea where the mallards hide to get out of the wind.
