I'll say one think though , if I go by someone house and they act as if they don't want me there or don't invite me in, I will NEVER go back.

I don't usually open doors to invite people in unless they have called ahead and I am prepared and I am not afraid to mention that I can't have someone over right now if it is a bad time.
My house looks like a teenage camp dorm most of the time... It is my home... I work fulltime and can't keep house like I want to... so... I don't open offer for people to come in. Thank God for a full front porch with wicker chairs... otherwise they are fresh out of luck.
