Tax burden can be measured at their level. If a BILLIONAIRE is taxed 50%... he isn't going to be struggling to buy milk for his kids and gas to get to work... but someone making $30K a year paying 22% of his income might find it hard to buy groceries after the house note, the electric bill, the gas bill, the water bill, trash collection, health insurance premium, auto payment, and auto insurance payment. When cost of living is factored in... a greater burden is carried by that middle class factory worker.

Let's compare apples with apples. We are talking about federal income tax. Nobody making 30k a year is paying 22%.

That wasn't the point. I pulled numbers off the top of my head. The point is... tax burden, when balanced against cost of living can crush a middle class person WAY faster than a billionaire. The Billionaire might have to sell three of his 15 yahts.

Very hesitantly, allow me to share my story. I do so with a sense of embarresment, for I must bear some of the blame for what has befallen my family.
From 2000 to 2009, I was a strong, five figure income earner, around 60K annually. Most of that was made working from home about 20 hours a week. We had been blessed with freedom of time most people only dream about. My kids saw daddy allot more than most see their dads. In April 2009, that all began to change. For a couple of years I began to sense the need to put some of my eggs in other baskets, or start working on my Masters. But the few ventures I tried did not pan out.
Long story short, the economy has hit our income hard, resulting in a 75% drop in our income. Being self employed, I recieve NO unemployment compensation for that part of my income. We had to sell our home. Thank God we got asking price. during all of this, my mom unexpectadly died, so we now live mortgage free in her home, and are 10 year old car is paid for. I now qualify for food stamps.
Last year, a total of 300 dollars in Income tax were withheld from my meager part time pay checks. But at tax time, not only did I recive every penny of that in a refund, I also received a FIVE THOUSAND DOLLAR tac "credit". Of course, I did not pay in 5000 dollars in income tax, so that money came from some rich guys taxes. And THAT is my point. We ALREADY have "re-distribution" of the rich man's wealth in this country. My story is repeated MILLIONS of times over in this country. I certainly can't blame the rich for my predicament. And what more can I possibly ask of the tax payer who has already been so generous? Yet, to hear the Democrats and others, I'm somehow getting "ripped off" and the rich man is "not paying his fair share". What a load of garbage!!

Look at what your Unions do to the middle class. No more Hostess. Unions by and large support Democrats

There is NO WAY for the GOP to be any more clear about the fact that their plan would not have touched any benefits for anyone currently 55 or older. Yet many, apparently you grandmother included, chose to ignore it or not look into it and listen to the left instead.
Personally I kinda hope the whole system blows up and goes broke soon so those who voted for Obama out of that fear see it realized and feel the pain of thier decision instead of me and my children having to deal with the pain of them happily kicking the can down the road.

Many wealthy do expand their companies and hire people. And this IS A GOOD THING. BUT... if the Middle Class doesn't have tax relief and barely making enough to meet basic standards of living... they are going to tighten their belts and spend less. They cut owning cable, buy used cars not new, cut down going out to eat, cut down going to the movies, don't go to recreational venues as often, don't travel, and the list goes on and on. When this happens, those companies that expanded have to cut jobs. Often cutting deep into where they were before they expanded. I'm sure there are exceptions. But I've seen this quite a bit. When companies have to trim the fat because fewer people are buying... not only do they have to cut jobs... but they delay or cancel projects... causing the business for contractors to slow down.

You make a great case for taxes being lowered for all.
