Re: Do You Believe in Women Pastors?
The word "pastor" (singular) does not occur in our KJV New Testament.
The word "pastors" (plural) occurs once in our KJV New Testament.
So, there are no men named as "pastors" in the KJV New Testament, just like there are no women named as "pastors" in the KJV New Testament

These are some questions to ponder for sure.I do know priscilla helped her husband. Honestly brother Sam one can minister even though they are not in pulpit or oversight positions, aren't all christians supposed to be ministers of reconciliation ?

Re: Do You Believe in Women Pastors?
And this brings us up to questions about a plurality of elders in a church, which was a house meeting in the first century.

another question is what if a man's wife dies, can he remarry?
another question is, does that just mean one husband at a time?

Unless the reference is related to polygamy, in other words, an elder/overseer should not have more than one wife. In that sense, it wouldn't preclude single men.

The interchangeable variation understood by most is the same word for overseer.
The pastor was an elder.

Sam seems to suggest that the Deaconess was also an overseer --- and interprets the role of a "deacon" in such a way as to restrict it's meaning, which, in Greek is actually quite broad as far as possibilities.

Actually, I'm more interested in hearing from those who support women preachers, but not women pastors.
Sam is a consistent supporter in both categories.

Re: Do You Believe in Women Pastors?
And so far, unlike the women preachers post, those opposed to women pastors is now the majority view on AFF. I find that interesting.
