God did it for us. Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we're in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ. ~Romans 3:24 from The Message

Actually faith is easy when you realize you have faith in God who cannot lie about what He promises.

You are getting bogged down in my poor choice of words. Sharing it could simply be replaced in my explanation by saying He uses us to speak His word, which does not require us to understand it. IOW< He simply does not speak the creative word Himself as in Gen 1. We are involved in His speech.

It's like healing. We lay hands on the sick and we cannot figure out how God heals, but He involves us in doing so.

Or when you realize what He's done... It's still asking a lot, even if it is easy.

Ok, I think I see what you're saying now.

If God ever did break a promise, how could you tell?

No man is better than his word, much less God. And I have faith that God is not a liar since His word said so. Everyone chooses whether to believe that or not. I believe. Anyone can choose to disbelieve Him, and wait to see if they were right or not.

Timmy, it always goes back to the contrast of the grain-of-sand-minds we have in comparison to that of God, whom the universe cannot contain.

When one has faith in His Word, such a thought of breaking His promises does not even enter one's mind. Cannot get away from the need of faith, Timmy. Why fight it?

Not at all. I think creation is a much more beautiful thing when it is thought of more as art. An artist doesn't have to paint trees and mountains and stars and sunsets and flowers and lakes and oceans... But he does and his work is beautiful. So God created all things and perhaps some have a purpose, but I think a great many he just created because he wanted to and because it pleased him to do so. And it is that concept that I am trying to relate back to this discussion. That maybe tongues don't really have a purpose in being the evidence of the Holy Ghost. I mean of all the signs that could accompany it I can imagine many that would seem far superior than tongues.

You do not get my point. Such a concept does not enter my mind. I do not allow it to. It is destructive to faith. As I said afore, I have to get as far away from that sort of thinking as possible in order to see the miracles I have seen. God requires an atmosphere of faith in order to do the things He said He would do for us. And I found that fleeing such thought has allowed Him to do such things in my life.
