Bro. Phillips has been saying for years that the Lord is coming back sooner rather than later, and routinely makes statements like, "I'm ready to get outta here" or "We aren't going to be here much longer." It's not really a direct PROPHECY on his part, just his mindset.
He looks forward to the Lord returning, and talks about it often. It's not anymore complex than that.

There are a lot of men that use that same verbage in their preaching. I know one old preacher that when he's praying uses language like....
"It getting late, Lord, it's getting late"...
He's been using the same words as longs as I have known him.
It's just the way they talk and preach. I agree with the sister that there probably is no serious prophecying in it!

I'm not sure what you mean by "sad."
Like I said, he doesn't say it in a manner in which he would be actually predicting or prophesying. It's more of an attitude of looking forward to the coming of the Lord. My grandmother and my father used the same phrases--my Dad was SURE the Lord would come before I grew up and left home...LOL!!!

Let's face it! If it had been someone like Irvin Baxter who prophesied we'd be at war with China in a certain time, of which he did prophecy that, then I would call this man a false prophet. But if it is rhetoric then I quess you just tolerate it!
