Sure, this is not a UPC forum. SOME standards should be kept. Others are unnecessary I think.

Actually, you disagree with both of us, seems like.

1Peter 1:15-16 is a commandment for holiness in all areas of conversation. This means that our standards (how we dress, where we go, and what we do) is included in this. As a believer in Jesus Christ, I see it absolutely impossible for a man to be holy on the inside and watch the lies and filth on TV. It is impossible for a woman to have a good attitude and still dress like a man or as if she has no morals. It is impossible for a person to claim modestyand wear jewelry that costs hundreds or thousands of dollars just for appearances.
Bill, I'm willing to bet that if you found a pair of women's pants to fit you, you would refuse to wear them based on the fact that you would be seen as dressing feminine.

It's amazing that when many men cross-dress, they wear women's pants and none of the Apostolics come to their defense and say they AREN'T dressing feminine-like because pants are for men only!

Admit it, Bill. There is no way you would wear women's pants and you know it. Claiming they are really men's apparel is your smokescreen to continually twist scripture to make your doctrine fit into the Word of God. God rejects your twisting of His Word.

Get in the book, Bill. Don't add to it.

Brother Price, would you say that your UPCI brothers who do not adhere to these dress standards which you defend are in threat of a devil's hell? If so what can be done?

Some views of what are proper standards are just misinterpretations of the bible. The attitudes that go along with many who propose "standards standards standards " is attrocious, and shows what fruit they really are. I keep everything the bible teaches about anything. Simply because I disagree with someone about a standard, does not mean I do not follow the bible completely. It's a matter of what the bible is really saying. I do not believe the bible is saying what some think it is, and therefore disregard their words if they disagree with me and say I deny part of the bible. I deny NOTHING in the bible, and keep all that the bible teaches for me to keep.

It's so sad when these sorts of threads get more involvement than anything else.

Seriously, Abigail, while I don't believe that standards are salvational I look around at other places, in my local, and they don't have the awesome worship that we have.

I can't speak for others places, but if I have to do that, and it isn't all that much of a drudgery to me, to keep the move of God we have in our services, then I will hold to it.

I haven't seen any other options, in other words. Not around where I am living, anyway.

Standards for you. Don't you apply those standards to all men? Why not? You do it for women, don't you?

Believe it or not, I have standards. I believe all people should have standards because if you don't stand for something, you fall for anything.

I have been consistent in my beliefs and how I've taught my children to live. They can tell you exactly what I believe in regard to standards and why. Most Apostolic children who follow 'the dress code' can't tell you why they dress that way, except that the preacher says so. That's sad.

I have standards in my life, but like you, they are MY standards and they don't do against scripture. I don't apply them to anyone else.
