My daughter went to Oral Roberts, Lambuth University, Union University, a few classes at Jackson State, and back to ORU to graduate. It was a roller coaster!!! The back window of her car had so many parking stickers, it looked like she was collecting them. I felt like Eddie and I should have been allowed to walk in with the graduates at ORU after all we'd been through and spent on her.

Sis Falla,

I'm with you. I work with someone that has their MBA and sometimes I wonder how they make it to work.

It takes nothing away from those that do have degrees, but just as Michael P said, he's been fortunate to work where they recognize work experience is equal to education.

I'm stuck where I work because I do not have a degree. I've worked her 15 years and my work experience is invaluable, yet I cannot be promoted anymore because of the lack of a simple piece of paper.

LR has over 20 years experience as an administrative assistant, a job that requires a degree in most offices today, yet her experience speaks for her, and is considered over a degree.

We use to be that way here because the President of our company started out mowing lawns at another medical company, then worked his way up and started his own company. He was a firm believer in work experience.

THEN....we were bought out by a BIG medical company and everything is politically correct and all jobs require 4 year degrees plus now.

I knew about JSCC and Union, but I didn't know she went to Lambuth. When did she go there?

Can't you get that little piece of paper online? That's what I'm trying to do.
