others believe that one is saved when they have that moment of faith, and it doesnt matter wheither they are baptized or not or if they are baptized in the titles. it doesnt matter. These still baptize in the name of Jesus and their churches are pentecostal in experience ie. worship and spirit filled.
Honestly it really depends on who you are talking to.
the One Step view is a very broad term.

Missed this one first...good post here too. I fall in the area of the saved WILL manifest the things Acts states, but not I am not a hard liner on that either. That is just my experience with it all.
The term 'One Stepper' can be very broad as you pointed out. There are the famous once saved always saved people and then there are the lose your salvation around every corner type. If God is looking for a clean and pure people to me that tells me a sinless people. That ain't once saved always saved, to me. I ain't OSAS either. You have brougth light to a good point here Ferdinand!

So if you seem classic PCI, then take that as a compliment.
As far dress, I suspect there again we are talking about a broad spectrum.
PCI guys have been everything from extremely conservitive on standards to extremely liberal.
so if you fall on that scale, then I suspect you would have found a home in what was the PCI.
|
Ferd, you may have hit on something here. From what I have heard, it was nearly impossible to tell the difference between the PCI and PAJC folks when they would preach. Apparently, the PCI folks preached JN baptism and infilling of the HG, evidenced by speaking in tongues, as strongly as the PAJC folks did. This would probably answer Sis. Barb's question about why this is now such an issue when it wasn't in the past. It would seem that modern day "PCI" folks aren't the same as old time PCI folks.

I dont mind a nice debate about the subject, but if you have seen me scrap about it, look carefully at what Im scrapping over. It isnt the doctrine. It is when one group or the other decides to outlaw the other.

I agree, Ferd.
There should be more respect and acceptance among us.
Let the local pastor teach his church the way he sees it and just leave one another alone.

Only place where someone asked the question, "what must I do to be saved?" is in Acts 16:30. The jailer asked this question to the apostles Paul and Silas. The Apostolic answer is in Acts 16:31-32. The Apostolic follow up to salvation is in Acts 16:33-34.

Re: What is a One Stepper?!
Quite a few one-steppers, when you ask them tough questions about their doctrinal position... become side-steppers.
Maybe that's just my observation.

I think Acts 2:37-38 is probably the closest thing to that, bro.
Asked.
...And answered.

Re: What is a One Stepper?!
This one stepper believes: That a person is rapture ready at genuine repentance. I then baptize them in Jesus' name. I see no reason why someone who has truly repented would NOT want to get baptized. The HG is a gift promised by God and is for everyone!!! God gives the gift. Some people have difficulty receiving the gift. Only God can give the gift. God will NOT send someone to hell who has not received the gift.
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!!

I do not think this answers the question TRF. I think that this is the response to the Message of Jesus the Christ/Messiah. But first our initial response is to believe HE is. I think that in the NT it is stated many times to believe on Him and one is saved and other variations of that. Infact, in Acts 2:21 says, "But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." This can not be talking about in baptism either cause by that time the baptism under Jesus had not been introduced into the equation of the conversation or the conversion. IMO
