"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Finished this a few months ago. It is a worthy read. I highly recommend it to all.

I've also begun reading The Cosmic Serpent: DNA and the Origins of Knowledge by Jeremy Narby, Ph. D.

And, finally, have also started reading The Rebbe's Army: Inside the World of Chabad-Lubavitch by Sue Fishkoff.

Finally finished Holmes. Also finished The Cosmic Serpent. A great read, many implications, particularly for the Garden of Eden and the Serpent story in Genesis.

I've begun reading Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky.

Any recommendations for early church history authors?

Alfred Edershiem references Eusibeus. Is Eusibeus pretty reliable?

Do you mean authors who wrote about early church history? Or authors who wrote during the first several centuries?

Eusebius is a good read, but like everything you need some grains of salt to go with it.

Gregory of Tours is also a good read.

Both of them of course are early/medieval catholics, so...

Bede's Ecclesiastical History of England is interesting if a bit dry.

Foxe's Book of Martyrs is good.

F. F. Bruce's New Testament History is in my opinion a must read.

Schaff has a History of the Christian Church whuch is online.

JN Andrews History of the Sabbath used to be online, not sure if it still is.

I used to have a book that I downloaded years ago which detailed early medieval church history from source documents throughout the period, but I can't find it and I can't remember the author or title. I think it was put out by the Church of God, 7th Day but I'm not sure. Very detailed.

It obviously did for you.

You got vaccinated and called others ignorant if they didn't.
