Re: Question about Acts 2:38: What about the marty

i'm pretty much at a loss to reply there, sorry. the question is pretty plain, but it does require that one acknowledge that they do not know everything about salvation.

ok, used the right way, "belief" and "faith" are the same thing, my apologies.

The question is pedantic and stupid. Arrogantly and purposely vague. Just talk and discuss. Explain, s. Don't impress. Communicate.

Yet Christ held out this GS over the priest and the prophet on the road, telling us "Go and do likewise." But the GS did not have Acts 2:38, and would not have agreed with the priest's nor the prophet's dogma.

Many, or most, Pentecostals--prolly the same % as the # of Americans--would be comfortable with saying "All Muslims are lost," despite the many parables that suggest otherwise, and the direct admonition from God to not judge foreigners. A similar question is shown in the First Son of the vineyard owner, and in other parables.

So, with at least several passages that indicate that "You do not know everything about salvation," how is it that anyone who purports to be following Christ might be comfortable saying "All _________ are lost?"

But don't be fooled that anyone forgot the question or anything; that is just part of the answer, along with the belittling, and name calling, scoffing, etc. I don't even blame anyone--i grew up with All Muslims Are Lost, and i get how it is passed off as "we say this because we love them" or whatever. It is very hard to see how "All Muslims Are Lost" justifies droning foreign weddings, etc. i guess

Re: Question about Acts 2:38: What about the marty

ok and i see "good deeds" conflated with "works" in James,
http://biblehub.com/james/2-14.htm
and other places--but i could also show you where "works" are religious practices, such as altar declarations, etc., those things one might do "religiously" for themselves that involve no real "deed." I don't know if this is just a mistake of translation, or intentional or what--one would have to start lexiconing the relevant verses, but regardless, there is quite obviously a difference in the GS' "good deed" and Job's or the priest's or prophet's dead "works."

So, similar to making "belief" and "faith" synonymous, "deeds" and "works" may be, but then you must find some other way to delineate the individual meanings.

well, i am certainly not meaning to--and you have not quoted any from me; the meme does not have to be personally applied to make its point--and i have already stated that i am not perfect, and apologized. I understand that no one means to be evil here. All the posting i just did, and you pick this?
