Re: Gay Marriage: For or Against?

Coadie... you're so obssessed with the gay issue and I know it's something that's important to you. On a moral level, we agree.

I'm concerned with the ever incroaching and expanding power of GOVERNMENT in areas of our private lives. Can you at least see my concern?

I never said anything about gay marriage being enforced by government.

I'm saying that if a liberal church wants to marry two guys light in the loafers... let them.

If a conservative church wishes to preach against it and refuse to marry gay couples let them.

Liberty.

Now, you want to use GOVERNMENT to control the liberal religious beliefs and practices of liberal Americans and gay citizens.

Liberal Americans and gay citizens want to use GOVERNMENT to silence preachers preaching truth and force churches to recognize their unions.

The way I see it.... both you and the gay agenda are the problems. Why? You want to abuse the power of GOVERNMENT to beat the other up. Between the two of you... Liberty is endangered.

Can you explain why you have such obsessive compulsive support of gay marriage?

The People in Iowa are talking back.

They fired 3 judges. In fact it was judges sent home and not losing against winning candidates. They just were voted out.

They like you said the people do NOT rule. Iowa has a constitutional ban on gay marriage and the guvernment judges say they are superior to the citizens.

Judges are to enforce the state laws and constitution. They got fired for refusing to follow the law.

"I think it will send a message across the country that the power resides with the people," said Republican Bob Vander Plaats, who led the campaign against the justices. "It's we the people, not we the courts."

The old testament was loaded with corrupt judges. Aquila is fond of them for some reason. Judges that fight enforcing the law need to be sent packing.
Clean the swamp.

Aquila is trying to force gay agenda and the voters are not that stupid.

The next lie is health.

It is more dangerous in terms of life expectancy to live as a gay than to puff cigartettes. Why don't folks hear the troooth?

The politically correct agenda lets us notify smokers of their risks. Why not let fornicators and homosexuals have fed back on risk behavior?

Why can't we tell women that abortions greatly increase breast cancer risks?
( many abortions are the unwanted results of fornication)

We have folks that practice a politically correct religion. Citizens have a right to be heard.

I don't either. It is an abomination to defend it, support it, condone marriage of the same etc.

Turley is the rector of Tulsa's Church of the Holy Spirit Anglican, which left the Episcopal Church several years ago after the denomination consecrated an openly gay bishop.

Here is a church that left it's denomination over ordination of a gay priest. Gay Gene Robiinson has been a thorn for his church ever since he was ordained.

They want marriage. Then ordination. Then be in the pulpit. Then put pastors in jail that call it an abomination.

And this discussion isn't refuting that at all.

Re: Gay Marriage: For or Against?

I believe we all agree that homosexuality is sinful.
I believe we all agree that the Constitution's purpose is to PROTECT citizens from intrusive GOVERNMENT that imposes any religious mores on our citizens and ensures equal representation under the law for all citizens.
I believe we all can agree that all Americans are entitled to their religious beliefs and are afforded freedom to practice those beliefs as long as they don't endanger the life, liberty, and/or property of another citizen.
I believe we can all agree that the principle of LIBERTY is a sacred thing, even if citizens choose to use their liberty to "sin".
I believe we all disagree with "mob rule", meaning the "people" being able to amass large enough numbers to democratically use GOVERNMENT to force an agenda that endangers or limits the life, liberty, or property of another citizen.

There are those who wish to use religion as a weapon to subvert liberty and rule over others. There are those who wish to use the democratic process to do the same. Both are equally a danger to our country. I served in the military, being willing to give MY life to protect LIBERTY, a LIBERTY that allows sinful men and women to commit sin should that be their choice.

I refuse to allow my religious views to cloud my political perspective. Because I highly doubt all of you would want me imposing my convictions upon you.

This unholy marriage of religion and politics is giving the church a bad name.

GOVERNMENT isn't the answer. Never has been. Never will be. PREACH the Gospel, defend liberty (even the liberties of those you disagree with) and trust God.... if you have the courage.

Re: Gay Marriage: For or Against?

I believe all of this originates from small minds who feel it their duty to control others... people that want a sense of power. Simply living for God isn't enough for them. They want control.

Re: Gay Marriage: For or Against?

What if the majority of American Christians wished to speak and convince the "people" to revoke the tax exempt status of "cults" and "heretical denominations" that do not adhere to the established and historical creeds of Christianity???

Would the will of the people trump our religious freedoms?

If you said it was your opinion, but since you "believe" all this orginates from small minds and control issues I'll have to take exception, with all due respect.

There are people who are sincerely trying to adhere to the teachings of God as best they know how. No control issues, no small mind, just believing they're siding with the Word of God. I don't understand the broad brush used to paint those who don't feel the same way you do.
