In my opinion, DKB actually laid down the first credible framework for a "Oneness Apologetic" back when he published his "Trinitarian Controversies" books round about 1992 or so.

He was the first to publish a reasoned and accurate look at the development of the doctrine of the Trinity by a Oneness writer. Everyone else simply followed the discredited meme that "Constantine invented the trinity at the Council of Nicea because he worshiped the sun god!"

Bernard understands the subtleties and complexities of the historical development here. Everyone would be well served to touch base with his treatment of the subject before adding to the body of work.

Your first paragraph -- was that TIC? Otherwise, not understanding.

Everything else, interesting indeed. Glad to hear DKB is more than a parrot, but realizes the complexities in the subject.

So the entire symposium is on the godhead? I didn't say it was a bad thing. Just you don't usually see "apologetic" like that in terms of an exclusive meeting to discuss godhead like that... at least it's rare. Maybe that's why they're doing it!

I was walking past the front of your house by the church in Queens - in the Shea Stadium area. You were pressing your nose against the window when I saw you and I said to Bro. L. "We should do something to reach these kids."

Bro. L. said, "Oh, don't worry. That's Bro. Alicia's boy. We call him 'un cojón.'"

They would be much better served to integrate themselves and work within other groups than to always want to have a group of their own where they continue more inbreeding. This is why I think UGST is a bad idea it just helps to create more inbreeding in the education rather than forced integration with the rest of Christendom.

I have no idea about this symposium. I don't even know what this thread is about. Sorry.

But yeah. DKB is pretty good on this.

LOL.

My dad pastored near Shea but we lived in OZ for most of my childhood ... about 20 minutes away

You know ... Ozone Park with the Gottis an the other gumbas from Sicily.

It wasn't until I had a supernatural encounter with E.T. that we got the nickname changed.

Even in the absence of "integration with the rest of Christendom," I think everyone would benefit from at least interaction with the rest of Christendom.

Re: Oneness Pentecostal Apologetics Conference

I for one enjoyed the thread. Learned a bit.

The whole scholarship and degree-flaunting has picked up. I've been encouraged that education was pushed more in OP circles. However, I was equally dismayed to learn some of the educational credentials some claimed were misrepresented somehow.

I had told you about my visit to NYC in 1986, once. I thought that you had said that your house was right by the church in Queens.
