Seriously sister, if all you want is to hear the echo of your voice I can't do that. I found some other disturbing things concerning the senator, which doesn't make him a bad guy, but really wouldn't help him get elected. This time around the presidency may not be his cup of tea, and needs to get his act together in certain areas. Time proves all things and as we get older we learn that the United States doesn't operate in a Baptist vacuum. Foreign policy shouldn't be dictated by our personal "opinion" of eschatology. It ends up alienating other religions, and governments a president is trying to deal with. Your senator dropped the watermelon in front of a room of Eastern Orthodox, Coptic, Maronite, and Protestant Middle Eastern Christians. Instead of opening up some dialogue (like I had opportunity to see before) he handled himself in an immature fashion. While I understand why he acted that way, and can forgive him, HE doesn't understand why he acted that way, and that could prove problematic.

Well, I can't think of anything that I need you for.

No, he didn't drop the watermelon at the "In Defense of Christian" meeting. The group has a history of internal squabbling and the purpose of the meeting was to present a united front at the conference in Washington.
Cruz heard, the day before, that funding for that conference had ties to Hezbollah, which includes Iran. He also heard that the participants were not allowed to talk about Israel or the persecution of the Jews in any remarks made.
He didn't want to cancel at the last minute, so he kept the engagement. He said that when he stepped on stage, he received a warm welcome - at first. When he began his remarks, he made mention of the Jews and then Israel. Muttering turned to booing even though the majority were respectful, the minority were getting louder and angrier.
He simply made the point, Those who hate Israel hate America. And those who hate Jews hate Christians. If those in this room will not recognize that, then my heart weeps. If you hate the Jewish people, you are not reflecting the teachings of Christ. And the very same people who persecute and murder Christians right now, who crucify Christians, who behead children, are the very same people who target Jews for their faith, for the same reason. If you will not stand with Israel, then I will not stand with you. God bless, you, good night."
You certainly don't enter this forum with any semblance of political correctness, so I don't know why you would expect that from Sen. Ted Cruz.
"The Christians in the Middle East won't be helped if we turn our back on a true friend and try to make common cause with an enemy that, if it succeeds in destroying the Jews, will not stop there." - Ted Cruz - page 304, A Time for Truth
You're right, he may not win this go round. I've stated before, the GOP is pushing for a Governor. They always do. What I don't agree with is you saying it isn't his "cup of tea". It is very well his "cup of tea".
And, no, he didn't act immature on his floor speech. He does know very well why he acted like he did. How ridiculous to think otherwise. Mitch McConnell lied to the Republicans. Ted Cruz looked him in the face and asked if there were any deals going on and McConnell said, "NO". Ted's staff told him McConnell was lying. Calling him out was a good thing, because APPARENTLY, they weren't getting anywhere behind closed doors. So, good on him!
At least your one post here had something substantive to talk about. Good on you!

Sister, it isn't his cup of tea as far as foreign policy would be concerned. He knew before time what was going to happened? Sister look at the video again, and again, pause it, rewind, pause, slow it down if need be. The Senator makes his comment and you can see on his face that he didn't believe he would receive the response he got. Sister he is use to speaking to a room jam packed n full of John Hagees all swimming neck deep in Christian Zionism. He was speaking to a room full of Eastern Orthodox, Maronite, Coptic, and Catholic believers, bishops and priests from the Middle East. This might come as a shock to you but these people don't see Israel as a religious entity, or that modern Israel has anything to do with the Bible. They are actually horrified when they hear American Evangelicals swoon over the mention of Israel. You heard that Ted wasn't supposed to speak about Israel? Seriously? Which Orthodox Christian group has ties Hezbollah? Syriac Maronite Church of Antioch? Are you talking about the Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai? Is that who you are accusing of having ties to Hezbollah?
Senator Cruz, needs to sit down and find out what he would like to do with his future. If you go to speak to a room filled with Eastern Orthodox Greeks, Serbians, Copts, and Maronites, you better FIRST find out what they believe. Secondly, learn how and who they have to deal with on their home turf, whether it is Lebanese Maronites dealing with Hezbollah, or Greek Orthodox Church of Jerusalem who have to deal with Israel, and Hamas. Really try to figure out that they don't see Israel of Benjamin Netanyahu has Biblically based. Sorry, but their churches are far older than Charles Nelson Darby, and C. I. Scofield. These groups have lived, and worshipped in the Middle East long before there was ever a United States of America.
Did he drop the watermelon? But of course he did. He could of handled it slightly better, and didn't have to bowl over the whole room looking for a Jewish vote. I mean sister, that was a mess, he could of tried to command the room, but he truly believed he was speaking to a group of evangelicals, who believe that Israel must be defended to the very last drop of American blood, also if Israel isn't supported then we incur a pox upon us? They just don't happen to believe that, and let me tell you they were applauding him, when he went down the list of terrorist groups they still had his back, they just don't equate modern Israel with Judaism. I don't even think Ted Cruz would know a Neturi Karta Jew if they fell on him. Especially after listening to the immaturity of the speech to the Defense of Christians group.
Sorry, but sister, he doesn't stand a snowballs chance.

Ummm, let's look a little closer at this issue. Cruz walks into a meeting with a group called - "In Defense of Christians" and he gets booed for saying that bigotry, even anti-semitism is a problem, but YOUR problem is Ted Cruz and not this crowd of bigots? Are you serious?
The fact is that many Mideast Christians are Arab nationalists. Of course they hate Israel.
One of the backers, to this group, has given to Clinton's Global Initiative. His name is Gilbert Chagoury. He is a billionaire and happens to be a backer of Lebanese politician Michel Aoun. That is Hezbollah’s top Christian ally in the country.
Another backer is Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Raï. He has made the comment regarding Israel being an "enemy state that is occupying Lebanese territory”.
And another, Orthodox Church Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, who had a picture on his Facebook page standing with some high level delegates to Hezbollah.
So, again, Sen. Ted Cruz knows exactly what he is doing.
I'm sorry that you defend these people. I am glad that Ted Cruz does not.

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
Look what I predicted would happen back in 2013:

Note that Senator Ted Cruz is arguing that he is a natural-born citizen because his mother was an American citizen. His father is now a naturalized citizen.
A naturalized citizen is a foreigner, Ted's father, who takes steps to become a citizen. Ted Cruz did not ever have to take these steps to become a citizen of this country, because his mother was a United States citizen.
CNN states he is eligible, but I would suspect if he threw his hat in the ring, they would reverse that stand for a distraction during the election cycle.

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
Cruz: McConnell Blocked Amendments for Kate’s Law, Defunding Planned Parenthood
Cruz, after re-iterating his charges that McConnell lied about whether there was a deal regarding Trade Promotion Authority and the Export-Import Bank, stated, “Now, let me tell you all the amendments Mitch McConnell blocked because he wants to reauthorize this corporate welfare and cronyism. He blocked my amendment to defund Planned Parenthood. In the wake of these gruesome videos, where they appear to admit to multiple felonies, we should be defunding them, and we should defund them this week. He blocked my amendment to repeal the Congressional exception from Obamacare. He doesn’t want a vote on that. It’s another of example of cronyism, Sen. Harry Reid and the Obama administration exempted Congress from the plain language from Obamacare. He blocked amendments to end sanctuary cities, to cut off funding. He blocked my amendment for Kate’s Law, mandatory minimum five years for an illegal alien convicted of illegal re-entry. And he blocked also my amendment saying that no Iranian sanctions can be lifted unless and until Iran recognizes Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state, and releases the four American hostages they’re holding.”

Sister, I'm going to disregard some of your statements which you posted because you have not one iota of a clue as to what you are posting.
Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II is involved in a terrorist group?
That like saying the Syriac Orthodox Patriarch is in cahoots with Ayatollah Ali Khamene because they took a Xmas picture together. My lands that is ridiculous, not only is it ridiculous it is childish. I have friends and relatives who are in the Eastern Greek Orthodox, ROCOR, Antiochian, Syrian, and Maronite churches, they live in the Middle East, some were raised in the Middle East, dealt with Israelis and Muslims. Not because they are in the Mossad or Hezbollah, but because they live there and hold clergy positions. Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai, and Theophilos ΙΙΙ, and Patriarch of Jerusalem aren't working alongside any terrorist groups to harm anyone who is Israeli. That is an insult to anyone who is Orthodox, Coptic, or Maronite. They would be horrified if they read what you posted, and posted mind you to justify your political candidate's sad handling of speech he seemed to have prepared for the Dallas Seminary instead of Middle Eastern Orthodoxy.
So, you (and now assume Ted) think it is strange when Religious clergy try to find peace with these radical groups which are voted in to office where the clergy live? So, if they take a picture with someone it automatically makes them anti semitic? Aiding the terrorist groups?
Sorry, you have a candidate who walked into a meeting unprepared as to what he was going to be dealing with. He started beating a drum which evangelicals would of started drooling like Pavlov's dog. Wise as serpents, harmless as doves? I guess in Ted's Baptist catechism Matthew 10:16 is not found. Sister he simply wasn't briefed well enough to be able to win the audience to find common ground and then lower the boom, while making it feel pleasant enough to enjoy the trip. At this point of the game it looks like your senator needs to go back to the woodshed to contemplate this on the tree of woe.

No confirmation of either comment
Except, ahem, an extensive search of the Nexis news database and online news sources yields no sign of Cruz, a Houston lawyer elected to the Senate in 2012, making either statement. Our searches led us only to a March 26, 2015, web post on Debunkr.net saying the same; Cruz hasn’t made these comments.
We asked Cruz’s campaign if Cruz had ever said Obama couldn’t be president for anything connected to his birthplace. He "has not," Cruz spokeswoman Catherine Frazier emailed.

Thank you very much on the correction and the proof that the meme is totally false. I stand corrected.
