It is a complete wonder to me why any one would leave a harsh taskmaster alive and kicking when a means to have this yoke broken, cut-off, has been provided.

Death is the operator for sin to lose its dominion, for our captor to be destroyed. A water separation is the judgement between the enemy and the captive; a way has been made for us to be buried together with our propitiation in his substitutionary death. The things of the spirit are truly foolishness to the natural mind. How can water save us from sin's captivity?

A miracle of redemption that sets us free from the old and prepares the seed for newness of life in the spirit. A way has been provided to deal with our former captivity to a harsh master's dominion in our lives, by being buried with him in baptism.

Actually what you call "three step" enhances the power of calvary.

Not if they are the effective application of the blood of calvary to the life of the individual.

It was NOTHING but the Blood saved me...

it was the death of one lamb in Egypt too... remember if you miss part of the application of the blood of that one lamb, slain once, you have no passover.

It seems that we had this conversation with DA and he didn't seem to get it.

When I was at JCM, 30 years ago, we didn't use this steppin vernacular, which JP is why I have attempted to beg off for the moment. We just preached and taught Acts 2:38. Give an old man a chance to catch up with the "lingo". Just consider me a Paul coming out of the desert after a LONG sabbitical. LOL

All the typology of Israel's exodus from Egypt is so vivid, so rich, so plain, so simple.

Yet some will not consider these as light in their study, even though they have even been partakers of this deliverence themselves.

tbpew,

The first sentence of your post reminded me of a story my pastor told in a recent message titled "Get Rid of the Kicking Cow".

It seems there was dairy farmer that had an amazing Holstein cow that was a record milk producer... Her milk was richer and more abundant than any other cow in the county.. maybe even the state.

One day a neighbor happened to be at the slaughter house and noticed this dairy farmer leading this prize winning cow into the slaughter house. He hollered out to the farmer and asked him what in the world he was doing taking such a wonderful milk cow to the slaughter house for.

The dairy farmer just looked at him and said, "She kicks and life is too short to live with a kicking cow!"

I agree with the story and your statement... life is too short to live with a kicking cow.. some things you just have to kill!

Yeah ... that's when a 3 stepper re-enacts His Death ... His Burial ... His Resurrection to Out-Calvary Jesus.

All the typology in scripture doesn't point to Acts 2:38 .... and your interpretation of it .... IT POINTS TO JESUS CHRIST.

but I as for me and my house we will not bow to the traditions and dogmas of men.
