BTW, Dan - YOU were not in the business session today. Maybe there was a real spirit of unity there!

Anyone who was in the business meeting want to give their opinion on the "unity" that was or was not there?
I was there.

It is definitely faith-speak to say unity prevails; however, there were no real problems.

I don't see what he said that was so offensive to mods and libs.
His diatribe on "Old-fashioned Holiness" started w/ Samson ... and this:

Your holiness
in dress is a byproduct ... when you lose your conviction ... you soon will lose your walk w/ God ...

Some have said "I don't believe all that ..."

"I'm not going to teach separation against the world"

"I will still teach the New Birth .... and Acts 2:38"

If you sell out one area it will be easy to sell out the next ----

There are plenty on the left who could be offended that somehow they are compromising on the Message if they lose their convictions on certain dress standards.

To me the whole resolution is a none vote.

It really is about someone, whoever "they" are?

Seeing which side are you on?

It really comes down to courage.

Which UPC minister from any district.

Has the courage to advertise, preach etc on thier local TV stations.

Regardless of the outcome after the votes are counted.

But Daniel, those are the centristic positions of the org whether anyone agrees or not. BTW, many do compromise the message when they "sell out" dress standards. Do you disagree?

Some do ... some don't ... but again ... he made a conscious effort to single out the left ... while placating the right for political gain, IMO.

Are you selling out?

BTW, the fear of doing the same keeps me from cutting the cord that attaches me to this thing.

I love the doctrine. I don't want to move in a circle of fellowship that would destroy what I know to be true. After all, we are what our friends are.

I disagree with many nonessentials, but I have no wish to lose essential doctrine.

And I think it's that constant drumbeating ... that keeps many in fear ... when it does not necessarily mean SPIRITUAL DEATH or even dropping W&S doctrine.

Bishop has seen enough of this to know that MOST DO...... FEW (very few) DON'T!

IMO, the left you speak of does not exist.

But I still love you even though we disagree.
