Because saying tongues is required is like getting people to shoot for tongues. The evidence is not what we're after. It's the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. We never tell people to seek for the evidence. We seek for the Spirit. Unfortunately, shooting for tongues has crept in to a lot of people's thinking and they are seeking tongues more than the Holy Ghost and wonder why they never get it.

I was Baptized in the Spirit at a Church of God in Labelle Florida at a youth event in a small black church. The pastor invited all of us youth to come down down to the altar. We where all going to be Baptized in the Holy Ghost this night.

He never mentioned speaking in tongues. He just instructed each of us to just start praising God and surely as we started praising Him each of us started speaking in an unknown tongue.

It was such a wonderful experience that I will never forget and would not trade for any mans money.

My nearest next Spiritual experience that I have enjoyed was when the Lord used me to read the mail of another brother who was in the hospital and the Lord just started downloading this mans deepest fears and thoughts. This guy just started weeping and I started weeping. We prayed and the Holy Ghost moved in this mans room. He was at peace!

My wife and I left and asked her if that just happened! We were both just in shock.

If God can use a donkey, He can use this donkey.

The 3 step designation has been around for a long time. I used to pass out a tract called "3 STEPS TO BE SAVED BY JESUS" back in the early 80's.

Paul did not believe he was saved at his road to Damascus experience. He believed in Jesus. He called him "Lord". He prayed and fasted for 3 days. And yet when he met Anannias he was still in his sins and neither did he have the Holy Spirit.

anyone who missuses the writings of Paul to teach the 1 step doctrine needs to go and find other texts to use, for Paul was definitely not a 1 stepper.

1. Paul believed in the Lord Jesus
2. Paul fasted and prayed
3. Paul arose and was baptized

sounds like more than one step to me.

Just realized a passage I need to include is about the Matthew 16 and Matthew 7 correlation between building on the rock.

Plus a chapter listing all the passage used in the New Testament that distinguish the need to preach what the apostles did or else be referred to as under the spirit of error. 1 John 4.
