Re: 350 People Baptized In Jesus Name
Here is the video the Baptism service sermon on 8-11-13. This was the weekend that between the Friday night Praise & Worship service and the three Sunday services we baptized 41 people in Jesus name.
The first part is a video about the baptisms then the rest is the sermon about baptism. Might be interesting for some of you three steppers to hear a one stepper baptism sermon!

Re: 350 People Baptized In Jesus Name
Our church growth continues to amaze me. We just added about another 100 chairs in the sanctuary. Our growth has been a lot with young families and some middle aged folks enlarging our demographic from being heavy on college age members (which was natural since our states largest university is in our town)
I checked Sunday before last and we had 693 folks between the three services and thought that was amazing. Just now I checked and today we had 759 folks. This at a church that started with probably a dozen people or less four years ago.
Moving to our new building this past Spring was truly a matter of God blessing us with perfect timing as there is no way we could have accomodated our growth in our previous building. Our max seating capacity where we were was about 200 so over three services we could only handle 600. Since the 9 am service was the least attended by the time we moved we were over capacity at the 11 am and 6 pm. Our new building now seats around 500 so we can handle 1,500 folks over the three services. However we need more Sunday School space already!
I am excited about the number of people we are reaching. I have never seen anything like it. I know a lot of good people that have planted churches and struggled with years to breath through and have growth. Every situation is different and ours has just happened to click with our community.

Your church is doing a heckavu lot more than a few people who call guys holding a beer "drunks!" as they walk by.

Hmmmmmm....
IF getting water baptized "makes God smile" (happy), does NOT getting water baptized make God frown (angry)?

JS,
I was watching the Nashville news tonight on channel 2 and they had a news story that made me think of your post I am quoting here.
A Nashville pastor's wife felt led to minister to strippers so she called a local strip club and asked if she could bring in lunch for the strippers. to her surprise the manager told her yes that would be great and to do it that coming Thursday.
She did so and has been bringing in lunch once a week since then. She did not overtly preach to the women but showed them love and caring by being a Christian example.
The TV news story interviewed a woman who months ago was one of those strippers who has now left stripping and given her life to God because of the love and kindness this woman showed to her. It made her want to find out more about what made this woman do what she was doing.
It was pretty amazing to see a major secular tv station (ABC affiliate) run a news story titled something like "God changes woman's life" or some such thing (I forget exactly what it was but that is close).
