What's funny is the hypocrisy from the left. They knew about Edwards but suppressed the story. They knew about Clinton and all of his trysts and glossed over it. They crucified Linda Tripp for telling on him. They basically called Paula Jones trailer trash. Ken Starr was evil personified. "Its just sex" they said. They advocate sexual freedom and obliterating traditional morality. Then they get all sanctimonious with this? Laughable.

That is the part that makes you angry they are coming after him. I can agree with you here. The hypocrisy is laughable.

Pointedly, and then I will give it a rest (unless something new surfaces - ), this is what bothers me about this whole issue:

In a short 72 hours, Cain has, so far, made the following statements either personally or through his campaign manager, Mark Block:

1. There is absolutely no truth whatsoever to these claims and "nothing happened."

2. I am not aware of any settlement of any kind.

3. I *am* aware of a settlement, but the association handled it.

4. It wasn't for much because nothing happened.

5. This has Mitt Romney's fingerprints all over it.

6. This is racially motivated against me because I'm black.

7. This has Rick Perry's fingerprints all over it.

8. No, there are no more women to come forward.

9. These other women coming forward now are lying.

10. Everyone but me is lying.

Oops, forgot:

12. This has Rahm Emanuel's fingerprints all over it.

13. This has the Pope's fingerprints all over it. Okay, that hasn't come up yet, but wait for it!

So, some of y'all are okay with women being harassed? After all it's just a man being a man, right? What if it was your wife, sister, mother, or daughter?

He's a man. He probably made a joke or gesture that may have seemed impolite-- but my gut tells me that whatever the truth is, it's not worth all this drama.


He should have not grandstanded-- a simpler, calm ambiguous but truthful answer can end the charades here.

They need to get off his case, but he really needs to come clean as clean as he can without violating the former agreements and do so quickly.

Maybe even a public apology to the women involved would be a way to help redeem the situation.

Are you kidding me? It's not like he raped anyone? He's a man and apparently has a pattern of harassing women, or using inappropriate language, at the least. Men cannot understand what that does to a woman.

I'm on the Cain train! I don't care if he flirted with a woman and she cried harrassment. Personally, I'd like to find out what political party the accuser is part of and who she is the biggest fan of. Seems clear that she/them is being opportunistic by raising the stink now.

Yes, that happens, but it seems like he makes a habit of it. Some women are attracted to money and power. But if you're running for office, you better remember EVERY thing you have done in the past, like the settlements. That shows he was in the WRONG in some way, and just didn't want to admit it.
