There are several in this thread (from either side of the fence) who demonstrate the reason this country cannot shake the idiocy and move forward.

There are several who so completely abhor the "other side" simply because they are the "other side". They abhor the "others" so completely that all they can see is every single blinding flaw and yet their devotion to "their side" is so complete that they cannot see any ill.

(Cue all the denials of 'I can see wrong when "my side" is wrong") to which I reply... bologna.

The blindness of the "us vs them" 2 party politics is the very vehicle that has driven us down this road.

Everybody gripes about the way the other guys are driving but the destination never changes.

Republicans in office... we head down the same trail... with a few personal nuances.

Democrats in office... we head down the same trail... with a few personal nuances.

I just wish that people could understand the depth and the completeness of their blindness

Just yesterday Katherine Sebelius was saying that the specific wording on the immigration and abortion would be in the final draft. Everyone has a right to be angry and wonder why it's not there now!

I believe many of us, including Ferd, stated that we were extremely disappointed in the second term of the Bush Administration.

Now, Obama is in and it's his turn. The ramrodding is the issue with this Administration.

The current Administration is moving too far, too fast. They've gone past the comfort level that many Americans believe is right or proper in regard to change.

We can argue the merits of the current Administration because it's politics. The pace for change is a structural element in our society. We are not set up for rapid and dizzying alterations that this Administration is trying to propose. In this case, this is especially true because some of what Obama is advocating would change the fundamental relationship between the Gov't. and it's citizens.

The "pace", IMO, is what the angst is all about, Digging. We have a right to protest and I have a right to think a "tag" on an article of clothing is hilarious! LOL!

I didn't mention anyone in particular.

I am not saying that people can't disagree with the politics of others. (And I am certainly against government health care etc).

I am just speaking to the way some people only have one gear and all they can do is rail the other guy.

I have seen it when Bush was in and I still see it now that Obama is in.

It's the same pancake... just a different side.

Only AFTER the Wilson/Obama "incident" did the Senate's Gang of 6 work to include such language. The house bill still does not have language requiring proof of citizenship.

Light, now you are playing the game the President is playing.

The bill AS WRITTEN IN THE HOUSE and the bill AS WRITTEN before Wilson's comments created a path to coverage for Illegal immagrants .


WITHOUT QUESTION the bill provided coverage.

Right now the bill in the senate provides language to require proof of legal status. HOWEVER the dems in the House have not added such language.

That means that once the bills pass, the dems in the conference commettee will get to decide without a further vote.

I have answerd the question. The bill DID cover illegals by not excluding them and by not requireing they provide any proof of citizenship.
