I am probably one of those who comes to people's minds when you mention people "with an agenda."
It's no secret that I am a one-stepper, that I do not believe paying tithes or sabbath keeping are requirements of the New Testament, that I believe how a person dresses is completely between that person and his or her Lord, and that I am a member of a "trinity" church.
I also admit that at times my comments have been sarcastic, caustic, and have not been spoken with love. In my posts I some times use qualifiers like "in my opinion" or "the way I understand that" but some times I do not.
I hope that I and my posts have not been the cause of people leaving this forum. In my opinion, the body of Christ is large enough to include ultraconservatives, conservatives, moderates, liberals and ultraliberals because the condition of the heart (relationship with Jesus) is far more important than the condition of the head (theology).

And this argument will NEVER be resolved, devolving vs. evolving.

Sorry, but if what you are saying is true, then the logic behind it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. They're worried about people's minds being changed because of what they read here, so they leave and go elsewhere, thereby leaving no opposing viewpoints to the ones they find so dangerous? Yeah, that makes perfect sense. NOT!
Exactly! Why not stay and stand for what you believe is true!

Some just need to conquerour and control their own stink'n flesh and they'd be kept busy for awhile. And I think that goes for those on the left, the right and some in the middle. [This is not to the exclusion of myself either.]
well i will drink to that, say pepsi please, diet, thank you, dt

I want to tell the Cons this, and I don't mean any disrespect, but
perhaps are churches are not grounding people good enough?
seems like a lot of our churches are lacking in teaching like
there was in years past.
so much preaching is geared towards numbers and church
growth, revival meetings and pep rally type messages.
the reason I say that, I grew up with a lot of UPCers ( preachers
kids!) who no almost nothing about the bible! I'm no bible expert
but I am no illiterate either
Ok, I jump your case quite often when I disagree with you St. Mark, but I have to stand up and applaud this post!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think that this forum has an agenda, I do think it appears at times anyway, that a lot of things are semmingly tolerated from the liberal spectrum that wasn't before.
I guess some feel that Conservatives were thumping at one time so turn about is fair play.
It is sad that while I believe things are open for questions & discussions, that a Christian attitude can not be maintained.
One other thing, if we are all "brothers & sisters in Christ" & I believing in uncut hair on women & some other "OP" doctrines come over to a community (AFF) and all I hear is those doctrines not discussed, but trashed & attitudes allowed, then guess what, I will
feel I am not welcomed & pick up my hat & head for the door!
I think that can some up a lot of Conservatives feelings.
