I think that the "tempting the Lord" angle, makes doing dangerous things just for the sake of doing them unbiblical for sure.

one particular theologen said Pauls comment "because of Angels" referenced this OT event and Paul was saying one of the reasons women should wear a covering was to prevent Angels from lusting after them.

odd....
Yesterday I read one theologian who said the Paul advocated a head covering, in his opinion, a veil ... so that the angels are not confused between men and women when they are ministering during service.

It's a marker for the angels.

Oh boy

Pastor P, if this is not dealt with this could be the straw that breaks the camels back. I am sure there are people in the movement that knows about this heresy being taught. Some may not care a bit about it cause it has roots (pun intended) in the uncut beliefs. There are ones in this movement and others that take convictions and teachings and twist them into something crazy. There are some in this movement that when they think about this topic their skin crawls, which seems like your catagory. I hate that this can and eventually will give the UPC and believers like you a bad wrap. It ain't fair. No one teaching can be represented by all the members of this movement. It is sad!

we certainly approach this subject from different places but we have common ground.

Magic Hair is in my opinion wrong. Long hair remains something I believe is important. I might even be moving towards uncut. but not magic.

Ferd, I'm really not sure how many people do believe "magic". I have never heard it presented that way anywhere at anytime until coming here...and I've heard a lot of presenting in a lot of places. I really feel like it is being blown way out of proportion.

It would certainly put a burr under a few saddles, that is for sure.

there are more than a few in the high leadership of the UPCI that have seemed to give approval to this.

I bet she could summon a couple legions of angels.
Never said it was biblical - Don't believe in the magic hair thing
myself but I think it's fairly harmless unless they teach that
you have to command angels with your hair(mandatory for everyone.
But if that's whatthey feel to do, God bless 'em.

picking up snakes is dangerous and has killed quite a few people.
taking your hair pins out and praying does not.

Taking up serpents is in the scripture but you and everyone
else here knows and believes it is symbolic and not literal.
