Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Interesting none the less.

As a side note . . . he is Ruth Reiders brother.

yes, letter writer he was... and the previous remark (another post) that he is/was an embarrasement to family seems a little far stretched to me....

I don't remember all of it exactly, but I will say I remember a lot because my dad was caught in the middle of all the NAU/JNL ordeal... actually, his signature was part of that letter.. I was at the conference that NAU called my dad up for prayer (he was ill) and wanted the truth from him.. NAU and my dad pastored peacefully as neighboring pastors for many years... he told dad wasn't believing anything until he heard it from him. He got the truth that night.. and things were fine.... a certain somebody (not SS) was a royal pain in dad's backside for several years.

However, Steve just didn't go with the flow, bow to the politics.. and stood up for what he believed...regardless of ramifications....personally I admire him for that.

I think I will go visit his church in the near future... it's been a while.

The indication is that he "was" at one time, (more so to NAU) some may feel that way still, but what do I know?

SS mentions an esteemed BIL in his letter who stayed home from Tulsa because he feared something embarassing might happen.

I wonder who that family member was afraid would embarass him?

It is worth noting that in the midst of the scene SS admits to freely throwing around the name of this relative and then put it in writing on the internet.

Wouldn't be a stretch in my family.

well, I personally wondered why he wanted to be there.. but understand better from his letter.

i just know that family is a funny thing... blood is pretty thick, I just think it would take more than his past leaving upc and/or disagreements to be called an embarrasment to family. Some people don't like attention drawn to them unless it is positive of course... that I can understand... to some he might have been.

I just don't see SS as a person going to just stir up a ruckus... He probably was there just to observe...that statement I totally believe. He is an intelligent attorney and great bible teacher... I know that when my sister was Asst Treas of Indiana Republicans, she would call him to pray at state dinners/functions.

Those who are interested.. here is the church website

Isn't he the one that sent out letters to everyone about how to dishonestly sign the A.S. while NAU was Sup?
