Paul became all things to all people so that he might win some. Within reason.

I was going to South Texas to preach and ended up getting a flat in Dallas, and changed the flat jumped back in the car and made it to the church right when the preacher was climbing to the pulpit. I looked like I just changed a flat, and the preacher had no problem calling me up to preach, and because he insisted I went up.
I think we need to get away from the Bohemian mentality that is flowing like puke across this country. Try looking presentable, whether you wear a neck tie or suit jacket, just try not to look like you walked out of a night club or a dumpster.

My point is that people make a judgement on others having a "casual attitude" toward the things of God based on if I have a suit/tie on.

Good question about the suit/tie issue. Do we have any biblical reference for Christians to 'dress up' before going to temple? Were we ever instructed as Christians to wear professional business type atire to church? Is this manner of dress written in to bylaws or AOF? Is this an unspoken requirement for UPCI preachers? Is it sin if they don't wear a suit/tie?

I wonder if John the Baptist was "casual" about the things of God?
Seems like folks made comments about his clothes not being "professional".

So if you pastored a church would you let someone preach at your church while not wearing a suit/tie?

Drawings in children’s Bible stories make the Baptist look like he was some deranged caveman.
