It's part of the sacrament of Churchanity.

Did David keep Goliath's sword in the Tabernacle? Did not early Christians burn down pagan temples and build churches upon their ashes in their conquest of pagan peoples? Take December 25 and use it as a trophy in honor of, and a tool to give glory to, Christ.

Did you know that the steeple's origin is pagan? Originally it was used as a phalic symbol on various pagan temples throughout Europe. It indicated where certain "lewd" rites were practiced with temple prostitutes.

Does your church have a steeple?
Do you preach against steeples?

In fact, even the pulpit of modern churches originated among early Greek philosophers. As did...what we call...the "sermon".

Some of the arguments against celebrating Christmas on this thread merely stem from ignorance. I got a good chuckle when we were accused of being Catholic and having Mass. Obviously, there wasn't an understanding of "Mass." Mass simply means to celebrate the Eucharist or, in other words, have communion. As an Apostolic/Pentecostal, we don't use the word "Mass" to label our services, nor do we call our communion service "The Eucharist." Even so, our church sets aside a certain day of the year for communion just as we sat aside a day to celebrate the birth of Jesus. No, we aren't celebrating a "baby" as was another prior accusation, we celebrate the fact the God robed Himself in flesh, came to earth so we could be redeemed.

Neck, we are on the same page when it comes to celebrating Christmas.

Sister, do you celebrate the Epiphany? You don't, so you pick and choose what you do celebrate due to your culture. It has nothing to do with the Bible. If you were raised in India you would be a Hindu, and if you were raised in Arabia you would be a Muslim. It's about our surroundings and cultures, and we incorporate them into our system. You don't get a xmas celebration from the pages of a Bible, you get a xmas celebration from the Western and Eastern churches, through the Protestants to the Pentecostals.

It's interesting to see you no standards Brothers fight so hard over this issue.

In Jesus name

Brother Benincasa

www.OnTimeJournal.com
The founding fathers of the UPCI/PAJC were the forbearers of the standards doctrine.

I tried to show you from the 1954 Pentecostal Herald that they celebrated Christmas.

They warned of the world looking to take Christ out of the season.

Little did they know it would not the world.

But junior minds in their midst that look for anything to gain extra ground in the name of a deeper committment to Christ.

The real minds in the organization would laugh at your petty grasp to show your arrogant sheaths and the casting away of Christ.

You talk about where is the commandment in the bible to celebrate the birth of Christ?

Where are the commandments for each and every fettish you call standards?

You have more committment to your own righteousness than you do the virgin birth of Christ.

Which by the way the miracle is in the virgin birth.

Without the virgin birth you have no baptism, no cross and no Resurrection.

Which interestingly is Acts 2:38.
