Re: Gay Marriage: For or Against?

People whine and sniffle, "What if our preachers are confronted with law suits against gays that want to marry?"

We TAKE A STAND.

Right now we're the ones trying to push our values onto an unregenerated populance that doesn't agree with us. They are the victims.

However, if they are granted freedom and then try to force their values on us... we're the victims. Christianity has always done quite well when a lost world sees faithful, loving, Christians taking a stand for what they believe in.

However, we PREACH the Gospel and stand at the ready to catch those souls that fall under the weight of their sin, carrying them to the arms of Jesus.

Thats the way I feel about grown people caught up in incestuous relationships.
If they have a yearnin' to be in a committed relationship and tie the knot and have some little babies, well...liberty is sacred.

I see no difference.

God hates remarriages, especially in cases where no sexual immorality was the cause of the dissolution of the first marriage. Do we ban remarriages except in cases involving adultery? If a second marriage is allowed to persist when the first marriage wasn't closed on the grounds of sexual immorality... the couple in question commits adultery every time they are intimate. The very second marriage is adulterous. Do we codify how God feels about that???

I don't ban or allow anything. I simply try the best I know how to live by what God says and hope and pray others do as well. Living by His teachings benefits all of society and every individual, saved or un-saved.
But, every society has the right and duty to establish what's acceptable and not acceptable behavior.

I don't believe homosexuals are any more or less guilty of sin then any other segment of society. However, whether a heterosexual marriage succeeds or fails should not be the determining factor on whether a society accepts or rejects same sex marraige.

An incestuous relationship can lead to offspring with a host of genetic problems, hence the reason why it is illegal. Gay people can't genetically mix, it's not the same thing at all.

So if it is wrong to force values on other people, why should gays force their values on us?

In what ways are they forcing their values on you? They are not trying to get YOU to marry another person of the same sex. They just want the right to have insurance and tax benefits. How does that harm you or society in general?

For ME, there is no difference.
It's perversion all day long.
