Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
Senator Ted Cruz, right on foreign policy!
Sen. Cruz: We Still Have an Opportunity to Tell the Truth About Today's 'Mistake of Historic Proportion'
Congress Must Stop a Deal that Puts Iran on Path Toward Nuclear Bomb
July 14, 2015
Washington, D.C. -- U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, released the following statement in response to the nuclear deal negotiated with Iran:
"Today, the international community led by the United States has agreed to not only legitimize and perpetuate the Iranian nuclear program, but also to further arm and enrich the brutal theocratic regime that has oppressed the Iranian people for more than thirty years - a regime that is wrongfully holding United States citizens captive, that is sponsoring radical Islamic terrorism across the globe, and that regularly promotes the destruction of both Israel and America throughout its streets.
"Despite these facts, it seems President Obama would concede almost anything to get any deal - even a terrible deal - from the Islamic Republic of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Under the terms of this deal, Iran will retain all of its centrifuges, one-third of which will continue to spin. Rather than the most intrusive inspections regime in history that we were promised, IAEA inspectors must petition the mullahs to visit sensitive sites, and wait for two weeks for their permission. In a final, shocking concession, the United States will support lifting of the United Nations arms embargos that restrict the Iranian ballistic missile program and arms trafficking. And in return, billions of dollars of economic relief will flow to Tehran.
"Yet, in his remarks this morning, the President glossed over the truth about Iran's world-leading state-sponsorship of terrorism that is violently destabilizing the region, and would grow more deadly should the Iranians get a nuclear bomb. He failed to mention American citizens, Saeed Abedini, Amir Hekmati, and Jason Rezaian, who continue to languish in Iranian prisons or Robert Levinson, who is still unaccounted for. For them, today is no ‘opportunity to move in a new direction' as the President claimed. We owe it to our fellow Americans elevate, not ignore, their plight, to demand their swift and unconditional release by the implacably hostile regime that holds them.
"Even by the low standards of the Joint Plan of Action, this is a staggeringly bad deal. It is a fundamental betrayal of the security of the United States and of our closest allies, first and foremost Israel.
"But thankfully, it is not a done deal. We still have an opportunity to tell the truth about what Prime Minister Netanyahu called today a ‘bad mistake of historic proportion.'
"Congress will have 60 days to review it, and the American people will have 60 days to tell their elected representatives just what they think of it. I urge all my fellow citizens to speak out and let their elected leaders know that even if President Obama won't see it, we know the leaders of the Islamic Republic who lead crowds in chants of ‘Death to America' and ‘Death to Israel' are not our partners in peace, and must not be put on the path to a nuclear bomb."

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
Quote:
Jeb Bush’s fundraising haul was impressive. Ted Cruz’s was more important.
But, as amazing as Bush's haul was, it's Texas Sen. Ted Cruz's fundraising totals that stood out to me as the most important money number from the June reports filed with the Federal Election Commission.
Now to the second point. Remember that Cruz's support is unlike any other candidates' support in the race -- outside of, potentially, Rand Paul. The Cruz people are ardently for him. They don't really need to be persuaded to stay with him -- and it's hard to see attacks from other candidates peeling them away.

Ted Cruz will be interviewed by Greta tonight.

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
PO, rethink your voting strategy this time around please. I wouldn't have an issue if TC is the candidate, but PLEASE don't get your feelings hurt if he doesn't get the nod and vote for some third party candidate or stay home and give Hillary, Bernie, or Joe or whoever the liberals field a better chance.

Thank you so much for your advice, Deacon. I am reminded that your last advice was that I should throw my support behind ORomney, who I tried to tell you over and over - he was going to lose, which he did. So, should I take your advice here as well?
I have stated and will say again, the reason I continue with this thread is to get Ted Cruz's name out there and to correct the misconceptions and distortions - which is a nice word for LIES.
6,203 viewers are interested in Ted Cruz. Thus, I am doing a good job.
Now, it is no secret that I would like for Ted Cruz to win. I donate to his campaign every month. However, I know that the GOP Establishment is NOT behind him. We can see that very plainly, and more so, as we know that John Boehner, when asked what he thought of Ted Cruz, held up his middle finger. So, do the math.
I do not live in a swing state, so I do not have to vote for the Republican nominee as my state always carries the Republican. So, if Jeb Bush is the nominee, he will not be getting my vote - period.
Today Senator Ted Cruz is meeting with Donald Trump. That should be interesting. Trump tells Morning Joe he doesn't know why they are meeting today.
I love the Cruz man. As I quoted in a previous article - "The Cruz people are ardently for him. They don't really need to be persuaded to stay with him -- and it's hard to see attacks from other candidates peeling them away."
I am on #CruzControl

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
Ted Cruz’s new campaign book reveals a lot about Ted Cruz
Cruz knows his appeal is as the true conservative who is smart enough to debate Hillary Clinton, and he has written the book to make that case. Measured by that yardstick, he deserves an A.

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
Ted Cruz, Mike Lee Promise Highway Bill Traffic Jam Over Ex-Im Bank
“I am willing to use any and all procedural tools to stop this corporate welfare, this corruption, from being propagated,” Cruz said in response to a question about a possible filibuster of whatever transportation bill emerges, a point echoed by Lee.
Cruz compared the talk from Republican leaders like Speaker John A. Boehner and Ohio and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky about getting Congress working again to “two wolves and a sheep sitting down to vote on what’s for dinner.”

I am sure John Boehner loved that! Hahahahahahaha!

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
obama may well be regarded as the worse US President, but Boehner and McConnell are two of the worst Republican leaders of Congress I've known. Why they haven't been thrown out of their positions is beyond me.

Well, Rand Paul did support McConnell's re-election. And I think that they are strong-armed over the phone if they don't toe the line. That's why they hate Ted Cruz. He has his father's history on his side and won't back down.

What did McCain call him? A wacko bird?
Thus far, they haven't been able to clip his wings, which is a great thing.
