Re: Trying to Rescue Another from HMH Doctrine

When I first got into Pentecost, I heard the pentecostal girls laughing about the "poofs". One told me that they used to put tin cans and oatmeal boxes in their hair to make it big.

I marveled at that because it would be my luck that they oatmeal box or can would work it's way out and fall to the floor during church shouting services.

I am pretty sure that many hair styles were actually intended to fall apart during shouting. A SURE sign of spirituality.

Heh.
I would have been mortified for a can of worms falling out of my hair.

I've been known to shout my hair down on more than one occasion. (It is much longer than most people realize!)

minutes tops! And it's beautiful and stylish.
Nothing garish or mighty poofy about it. Just
beautiful!

Anyone remember Vestal Goodman back in the day?

In other words, it was a style...a way of wearing long hair.

Perhaps I am getting old and weary and ought to leave it alone, but some things are just worrisome.

I agree, some subjects that are continually made fun of on this forum,
are beginning to be totally worrisome.

and there are also scriptures which say:
"the higher the hair, the closer to God"
and
"you may be Apostolic if you've ever had your hair get caught in the ceiling fan."

Remember these 2 verses because "in the mouth of 2 or 3 witnesses let every word be established....."

I've seem Vestal Goodman with "long" hair and with "short" hair and the hair length did not seem to affect the anointing with which she ministered. That's my personal opinion.
