I guess they took that, Luke 9:3, Luke 10:4 thing seriously....Besides....Why are we sowing if that's where the blessing is? If he wants blessings, shouldn't he be sending US money? I thought thats how those things worked, or maybe I'm just not holding my mouth right when I read my Bible.

Yes, but the Didache says if a visiting prophet asks for money he's a false prophet and is to be sent on his way without passing Go or collecting 200 dollars.
