I think we are all entitled to our opinion but some people are so crude, hard and cold...I did not and do not agree with JF's belief's but it is a sad day for his family, friends and ministries.
Sometimes I chill out to read some of the things people post...Have we no mercy at all? I am not saying put people in heaven but can we not find anything kind to say?
We probably teach and live a stricter outward standard than most but I never heard my husband say cruel things about people...he does not agree with lots of people but he always has something nice to say...even in times I have been asked to translate for other churches that do not believe like us in any form he has always noticed something nice and that spirit has overflowed on our sons and daughters...
I just had a mother come to me the other night and tell me the reason she felt her son was not in church was they had been critical of the church and pastor they sat under when her son was small.
Be careful what you say...it has a way of coming home...

There's a lot of wisdom in this post.... it reminds me of something my grandmother used to tell us when we were growing up..

"Be careful of the words you say, keep them short and sweet-- You never know from day to day--which words you'll have to eat."

You have the spirit of a true Christian! I appreciate this post. Sometimes, we forget that the bible says to judge not. I'm not sure why we are so quick to judge. I can find something good in almost everyone and something good is what I choose to look for.

Thank you Sis Alvear. This is the best post I have read in a very long time. You sound like one awesome lady!

I wonder how his conversation with Pope John Paul is going.

Can yall understand why I would not want to identify myself with this mentality!

YOU are my brother and my friend...WHY oh WHY do you put up with this stuff!
Thats not reflective of who you are...of that I know.

I don't mind saying publicly that I am disgusted with the fact that you would take information off a closed forum and post it openly -- especially when you don't even have permission to be ON that forum.

While I do not agree with everything that everyone says, I DO respect their right to say it among friends. You have SERIOUSLY disappointed AND frustrated me by your behavior.

I have not even READ the thread on Jerry Fallwell on CAF. It was not something I found of interest. The man did some good during his lifetime. I'm not going to impugn him now that he's dead.

However, I am CERTAINLY not going to try to publicly humiliate my LIVING brothers over their comments, whether I agree with them or not. That's exactly what you have done.

I am not sure how you are getting this information, but I think I know who's responsible. I am going to lock down a certain friend's account until I get an assurance from him that either:

1. HE is not the one who is passing this information along to you (whether by cut and paste OR by giving you his password)

or

2. If he IS the one, he will NOT allow it to happen again.

Again, I am VERY disappointed in you.

THANK YOU!

Looks like this thread went from bad to worse last night!

Very disappointing.

My kids did not even know there was a rift between upci and aci until they got old enough to go out on their own preaching...
When our children see brothers fighting it conveys a negative message...Some of them that don't travel to the states are grown and still don't know!
We never told our kids who was what...and besides that some people change groups like they change clothes...
We just told our kids no matter who came they were friends...

I was thinking this morning I met Dr. Farwell once but my memory is foggy and I do not rememer where. But when he spearheaded the Moral Majority to get Ronald Reagan elected. I had never voted it prompted me to vote. I never campaigned like he pushed folks to do but I have voted ever since. I appreciate his contirbution to American Politics it I think was positive. He will hold his place in American History for his contribution. It would have been much better if he had obeyed the gospel that would have saved his soul. Not castigating him it is sad anyone dies lost but the message does not change.
