So, his sermon is news. I am just wondering HOW it became news? That's all I want to know.

I think we're running a string out to a point here, it really doesn't matter where we heard it or who the reporter was, it was posted on the WORLD WIDE WEB, and so it was opened up to the public. Just a friend sometimes tells you about a good restaurant that you may not have found on your own, or gives you tips about a great sale that you may not have found on your own, once it's public, it's public.
However, I just want to state for the record that I have no issue with RM on this incident. As a pastor, you can't control everything that is said in your pulpit by others.
When I pastored, on more than one occasion, I had to come along and clean up some messes left by others once they had left. A wise man won't step up and pull an evangelists's coat tails in the middle of his sermon over something like this. Maybe there are some subjects that would warrant immediate dispute, but not this one.
As a pastor, I would be more grieved by the 'jesting' towards those in my congregation than I would over a James Brown song.
I don't know what RM said once GP left, and it's really none of my concern.
My "beef" as it were is solely with the coarse and insulting things said during this supposed sermon, and since it's public, I'll discuss it publicly!

Uh, yea, Mike, it was done just that pleasantly. Like dropping the name of a good restaurant.

It's RM's church. He can do whatever he wants and DA is NOT on his Board of Directors. He might not have realized that little tidbit of info. LOL!
Love you guys anyway!
Again, don't tell me you all love RM, because you don't.

1) No, he didn't preach without a shirt on, but what he did was FAR worse!
2) If Billy Cole is right, that's just sad. No wonder people are so messed up.
3) I agree, he can do whatever he wants. And, DA and all of us can comment on it.
4) That last statement is just wrong and it's a cheap shot that's beneath you. I could say the same about your, "Love you guys" statement but I wouldn't dare. I would be assuming I could crawl into the crevices of your heart and judge you, and I can't do that. Don't you DARE tell me whether I love him or not.

So, NOW, this is how you handle a person you love? You have their best interest at heart and you drag them here to discuss them with people who don't personally know them? Is that really love? That's a new one for me. Explain how that works.

I agree, GP's actions were what yanked my chain the hardest. And I agree, this isn't something that I would have made him stop in the middle of speaking it. The "Hey, are you a Mexican" just might warrant grabbing the mic, but not the other. STILL....trading places with RM, would you have posted the sermon or just let that one disappear? For me, I'd let that video tape slip out of my hands and fall into the fireplace, myself.

Thanks for the sarcasm, ladies. This reminds me of why I stopped posting here in the first place.
Please go back thru my posts and tell me if I criticized RM in any way shape or form.
Tell me if I called GP names, or referred to his character.
I've only commented on his public actions and words, and instead of listening to my points and acknowledging that I may have a somewhat solid opinon, I get snide remarks like this.
That notwithstanding, the issue of WHERE the sermon came from is irrelevant, my opinion about conducting oneself in the pulpit, and using your ministerial authority with wisdom remains the same.

Do I like him? Probably not, at least from what I know of him. Do I love him? Of course. If this discussion makes him think twice the next time he decides to loudly condemn other men of God, other pastors, other servants of the Lord who are laboring in the same vineyard as he, and gives him pause enough to keep his condemnation to himself, then ABSOLUTELY, his best interests are at heart.
