Not a Sista but you are correct. Either the scriptures will control your life or your flesh inspired by the Devil who rejected God's control of his life and sought to do his own thing. The original sin was pride that caused Lucifer to rebel against Divine Authority. The ungoverned who reject control usually do that in every aspect of their lives. I have watched the lives of the ungoverned and the fruit it produces and it is indeed sad.

Unhuh. And if you, God, or anyone else thinks I am going let another preacher gain my trust, just to lie to me, you can forget it.

Naaaaaaah!

You're wrong.

You lose.

Elder Epley and I agree.

If I quote a scripture "Jesus wept" and say "well...Jesus obviously wept" is that just my opinion?

At some point someone's opinion is going to be the correct opinion and if IF the word of God is important to our salvation, we better be wanting and trying to discover WHICH opinion is correct rather than making snide comments and innuendo

Here is a verse for all of us...opinionate as you will

Eph 4:29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

1Co 8:1 Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.

2Ti 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
2Ti 2:16 But avoid irreverent babble, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness,
2Ti 2:17 and their talk will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus,
2Ti 2:18 who have swerved from the truth, saying that the resurrection has already happened. They are upsetting the faith of some.
2Ti 2:19 But God's firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity."
2Ti 2:20 Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for honorable use, some for dishonorable.
2Ti 2:21 Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
2Ti 2:22 So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
2Ti 2:23 Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels.
2Ti 2:24 And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil,
2Ti 2:25 correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth,
2Ti 2:26 and they may escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.

I wonder if I questioned the preachers who have known you about your integrity??????????????????

Have they ever been able to trust you??????????

Trust is a two-way street. And believe or not some so-called saints lies!

I don't understand why people have this huge trust issue with pastors.

Preachers and pastors fail. They can't help but because they are men.

The fact that people fall has never ever affected my trust in them overall or in God either. You just have to learn and accept that men - all men - fail.

The Old Testament patriarchs and prophets and kings certainly did. So did NT disciples, leaders and saints.

Hello! It's a fact of life. Get a grip.

Uh, sorry, but it doesn't work that way. Preachers aren't supposed to look to me to be their example. They're supposed to be my example. Paul said to follow him as he followed Christ, not that he would follow the people as they followed Christ. The responsibility for being setting the example falls on the ministry for the saints, not the other way around.

Why are you always so mean to me? Snide comments? Excuse me? Epley can tell me to go to hell, and you think nothing of that, but I am acused of snide comments? Well, to this I say piffle! It's obvious that you dislike me and that you disagree with just amount everything I say. Perhaps the ignore button would be appropriate?
