I am not positive, but I think it is the legality of it that is different.

Well, I can only speak for myself. I for one do not think that division is funny! It sickens me. What we need to do is find some common ground and get along with one another...not take our marbles and go and play somewhere else! We believe the same thing fundementaly (spelling?), together we can do so much more than divided! Scripture says the world would know us by our LOVE one to another!

Do you really believe the same thing fundamentally? We have folks posting right here on AFF that are part of the UPC, that believe contrary. Some believe salvation occurs at repentance, some believe it takes all of Acts 2:38.

No, what you are asking is these men to sear their conscience on what they believe to be right, and stay.

I would guess that they will be very close, as many of the men listed are in or have been in the UPCI. The ones that left the UPCI do not appear to have left because they disagree with the AoF as much as they disagree with the perceived movement away from the AoF.

Let me say this too. No one was blind going into the GC to vote during Resolution 4. If anyone thought that it would not finish the divide that was already present, they were fooling themselves. The fullness of the division came with the passing of Resolution 4.

The speculation regarding ethics involves a discussion about how one of the former Executive Council members (now a member of the General Council) was reported to be making telephone calls to UPC ministers trying to get them to "join" the new ... whatever it is.

This would be unethical if indeed the phones calls were made AND if indeed this is a new organization.

St. Matt, it is obvious that this is not just a little club for like-minded UPC'ers who want to hang out with each other minus the taint factor of their more liberal-minded brethren. Their motive, in my opinion, is to humble the Mothership and at the same time prove that they can win the world on their terms. They will ultimately fail in both respects. The old bitter/sweet fountain trick cannot be mastered.
