at least be aware that there are other viewpoints, "Jaffa," etc., and that one's preconceptions will be used against them. This would be on the way to understanding that there would not be nearly the strife that there is without "Christian" intervention--and arms sales--to all and sundry in the region, but of course i don't expect that to be too graciously accepted.

Oh yes the strife in the Middle East is primarily the fault of Christians, white Europeans and Americans, and Jews. The history of the Arab people and Islam is nothing but peace and harmony, contributions to the advancement of mankind, and a beautiful narrative of cooperation and community resulting in some of the most sought after countries to live in in all of the world. Americans and Europeans by the hundreds of thousands are trying to find a way to become Saudi Arabian, Moroccan, Egyptian, Jordanian, Lebanese, etc. citizens.

well, i am not a liberal, and i didn't suggest this other extreme that you describe as the norm, either. It might be best described as the white ptb taking advantage of little conflicts, making them bigger, so they can get richer; but although that is pretty well established, i think even it is simplistic. I mean, surely there are many black people taking advantage of the situation to get rich, too.

Funny how it's "established" that we pick on small countries to become rich...what a lie. Soooo we are $19 trillion in debt...where's all that wealth we've procured from taking over other countries? Where's the wealth of Germany, Italy and Japan we stole from them? What nation have we pillaged and spoiled? How is it we go in and rebuild their roads, cities, bridges, schools, hospitals, etc. and still get accused of "getting rich" off of the nations we defeat in war? It's an indefensible charge.
