Sounds just like my husband and I, only we are a year or two older. Our oldest son is going to turn 15 next month!

We have a 17 year old and a 13 year old. The 17 year old is just now beginning to realize that he doesn't know everything there is to know. But he's still convinced that the world revolves around him. The 13 year old has just recently discovered that the knows everything and more. AND he's willing to tell you just how much he knows. Even while you are trying to speak. Uggh!!! Lord, grant me the patience to endure my blessings!

My son turns 16 next month. Seems like yesterday he was a toddler.

He won't be driving, however. His grades are poor and I told him that taking driver's ed this summer isn't happening. He will take it next spring if his grades are good before Christmas. I expect they will be....

My daughter will be 14 in September this year. She is a know-it-all child, but that's not the problem.....she really does know it all.......LOL!

Both of my kids are great people, even though they are teens and sometimes their mouth is the biggest part of their bodies, but I don't have problems with them and they are obedient.....except when it comes to doing chores!

My son spoke during service at my grandmother's church on Sunday. They were passing a mic around to those who wanted to honor their mother. He said that he loved me and loved my company. I thought it was special.

I never had a good relationship with my mother. I hated her with a passion when I was growing up. To be honest, I wanted her dead and gone cause I couldn't stand her.

I never wanted my children to feel that way about me, and I'm honored that they both prefer to be with me almost all the time. My daughter prefers to sit with me in church instead of with her peers! I love them both and they are my most precious possessions. Why God chose me with those blessings, I'll never know, but I'm glad He did. I don't take it for granted.

Actually, I joke about my kids being all-knowing, etc. But in reality, even tho that part is mostly true, they are still great kids! I was just thinking about that the other day. We went to my son's piano recital and then after it, we went to get ice cream. On the way, we drove past my brother's house. He is a single parent and has to get up at 2:30 am to get to work. So the rule is that his girl's (ages 13 & 17) are to stay inside and no one is allowed over after he goes to bed (usually at about 8:00). So that night we drove past and found my niece standing outside of the open bathroom window with her boyfriend. And the other niece had her boyfriend upstairs with her in her bedroom!!

I see things like this going on, and then I see even worse things - yesterday they arrested a kid in the middle school for drug trafficing!!!!!! And then I thank God for how great my boys are. They are active in our youth group, they play in the ensemble at church, our oldest one loves to go to the Sr. High Bible Study, our youngest plays piano, guitar and saxaphone, the oldest plays baritone, they're both good students, etc.etc. I have no REAL complaints Isn't God good!!!!!!
