Ron Paul says he'd consider putting Dennis Kucinich in his Cabinet

Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) says he would consider putting the liberal congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) in his Cabinet if he were to win the presidency in 2012.

I've seen comments online where people are being turned off by some in the Tea Party movement. I have some Tea Party people on Facebook and I see no difference in them and a true Republican.

This country is in need of change, but it's going to have to be moved around like a slow turning ship and I'm really not sure we can do it. I'm with Newt, when he says we need to pay more attention to who we are putting in the House and Senate first. I think the American people don't realize that our local and state offices are equally important.
1. Still... no examples. Just short rants about crackpots.

2. Local and State SHOULD be equally important but in the increasingly centralized federal government they are relegated to little more than pawns to do the federal governments bidding. It would be a wonderful development if local officials would go to Washington and stand up for the people that would help but they all (with a few exceptions) just become federal cronies.

3. This country is in need of a change. A big change or we'll soon be crashing as a country in a manner few can comprehend. But the deal is that the American people are more interested in changing window dressing while the ship is sinking. The quandry is this... big changes... or we don't make it as a nation.

My guess is... we don't make it.

The American people aren't ready for the change necessary to save the nation so we, ourselves, doom our own nation.

But... at least when we go down burning... there will be "electable" people at the helm.

On the crackpot Tea Partier - I don't have time to go over all the silly things the guy was telling Neil Cavuto yesterday. Neil was telling him that he didn't seem to line up with the majority of the Tea Party movement and he was right.

I've been reading on Facebook, today, the argument for and against the Tea party. Some are telling their bad experiences/perceptions and some Tea Party members are coming to their defense saying there are wackos in every party, which is true.

On the Libertarians - My experience with Libertarians has mainly been on Facebook, of which, I've deleted them. I don't like people that come across as extremist. That's been my experience with them.

I agree, except for your comment - "My guess is....we don't make it." I'm still believing for a George Whitefield moment in this country. I just want to believe it will happen.

And, BTW, it is good to see you posting again, Digging!

I've been waiting to see if my son and his new wife are going to move in with us. It's been on hold for several weeks. He called this morning to say they are coming tonight. So, I may not get to post much in the future. It's going to be a big change around here. I won't get much "self" time anymore. Not sure how I will handle that. LOL!

Yep... more window dressing nit picking.

1. What is a UFO? It is an unidentified flying object. An object... flying... that you cannot identify. He saw an object in the sky that he could not identify... why do we even let this man live? Good grief at the rabbit trails you people run off on.

2. If he said... I saw an alien space ship (Which is what everyone hears when they hear that someone saw and unidentifiable flying object)... would it affect his policy? Would it affect his ability to rule? I hope I never see anything in the sky I can't identify because nit picking naysayers who jump on everything that isn't like the polished politicians y'all so love to elect might decide I'm not worthy to raise my kids.

Jimmy Carter has seen an object in the sky he could not identify.
Ronald Reagan has seen an object in the sky that he could not identify.

EGAD... The gipper himself?

Maybe one of those aliens will have a time machine on them and we can go back and unelect Ronald Reagen. We don't need cooky people like Ronald Reagan running this country. He saw a UFO so surely he can't think clearly and doesn't know how to run a country.

When someone wants to dislike a group of people... every little piddling thing is an issue.

So go ahead and

This type of nit picking is why we deserve what we have coming.

I hope you are right and I am wrong. But I hoped the same thing several years ago when Ferd said that in two years the economy would be better than it was then.

History is filled with people who were still believing it wouldn't happen. The ark comes to mind, the fall of Jerusalem, The fall of Rome etc.

I hope you're right... I hope it at least holds out 4 more years so I can finish getting out of debt etc.

I don't think you have a lot of chance of being right on this one. At least until more Americans open their eyes to how close we are to total financial collapse and how much we need real change.

I won't hold my breath on that one because there's always some little nuance people don't particularly care for on everybody that could make a difference.

So they'll elect their highly polished and debonair politicians until the whole shooting match is over.

Well, the thing about his heart and all, was really weird. You have to admit that. "He found the encounter extremely moving. He found a connection to his heart." Puleeze!

I have this huge thing about UFO's and Aliens. I don't know why, I just do. If someone says something about it, I get angry. My husband teases me all the time, because he knows it ticks me off. I think it's stupid that God who created the heavens and the earth with precision, would have a bunch of little ET's running around.

Now, let's not bicker like the last time when we talked about you know whose name we can't say.

Different people.

Same thought processes behind it.

From election to election the names change but the mindset that keeps wrecking us stays the same.

It's a waste of time. I've got debts to pay off and try to get myself in the best position possible as we continue lock step toward disaster.

But... at least there won't be some UFO wacko at the helm when we crash.

We'll always have that.

I am positive.

We need change and you have to admit that I don't stop pursuing it even though there doesn't seem to be any hope. But people who hoped against hope are what made this country great.
The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function. One should, for example, be able to see that things are hopeless and yet be determined to make them otherwise.
