My question to PO was specifically about the book that she was reading and reviewing (critiquing). I think it is fair to ask if there was not one thing that she didn't like about the book. I was not asking if there was anything that she does not like about Sarah Palin. I think we all know the answer to that question. 
Either way, it does confuse me at times when I hear people talking about and defending public personas (especially politicians) in ways that would make you think they have some sort of real, personal relationship with them. |

I guess I need to explain a little further about my interest in Sarah Palin.
When she came on the scene, I was excited because of the positive things I was hearing - mainly - the changes she had made in Alaska for the people. I contacted a friend of mine who lives there and he confirmed these things to be true - she was on the side of the people. I heard that she sought the good ideas and not just from her own party. That was wise, IMO. I think it's always good to seek out solutions in a bi-partisan way.
Then the negative starting showing up, especially that she wasn't intelligent.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch (lol), two of my girlfriends, who serve on City Council, were embroiled in a huge dispute with the Mayor, City Secretary (cooking the books) and the Chief of Police (who had a hidden record before coming to serve in our location).
I was on the phone with one of the friends, daily, as she walked me through all they had to go through with procedure during meetings (had to be exactly on point), meetings with a lawyer from Austin, the investigation on the Chief of Police that could not be leaked, etc.
I, therefore, went into the archives of some of the Alaskan papers to find out what kind of a person was Sarah Palin. I couldn't fathom, on a larger scale as Governor, that Sarah Palin could be a ditz! After reading and reading, I could see that she wasn't. My thinking was that if my girlfriends could turn the town upside down and get rid of the Mayor, City Secretary and Chief of Police - what could Sarah Palin do as Governor - KWIM? You go girls!!!
Long story short - Her book bore out all the information that I had already read about, researched, heard on the news, etc. I was not learning anything new and so I knew her story added up. Also, she was cleared of every ethic violation filed against her. The only one that she paid out was one that would have been too much trouble and too costly to fight and so she paid it. It was on travel expenditures and a Beauty and the Beast play that her daughter, Bristol, never attended. That's it - nada!
Now, let's go back on the campaign trail when I posted all of the information that I researched on Obama. Yes, let's talk about that.
Same scenario, he panned out to be actually what I thought he would be and is taking the country in the direction I knew that he would, etc. BTW, Sarah has no friends that send dead fish in packages - KWIM?
So, you see, it's not a personal connection that is necessary. It's the research. My mother taught me to look at no less than 3 sources for your information and then keep reading, keep researching. It's just a rule that normally works. I do that when I study History.
That is not to say that I place all of my trust in this woman or any other politician, but she seems a bit more genuine. As you stated, she isn't afraid to voice her religious beliefs and convictions.
Do I want her to run for President? I would hope that a man would lead us, but if a man can't do the job - then we need another Deborah.
I share the same Feminist view as Sarah when she wrote about a bumper sticker floating around Alaska. It refers to a women winning the Iditarod -
"Men will be men and women will win the Iditarod". I want men to lead, but if a door opens for a women to take up some slack and pull some leadership and it works for her family unit - then lead, baby, lead!

But, listen, after I posted the video, I had to take care of some things and I thought - You know what? The woman is lost. I should pray for her. My second thought was my 12-gauge. J/K!!!!!
