You know there is gay male who works where I do,and when he is in on his off day he comes into our store dressed in drag,and get this he has a short hair cut.
Everytime it is payday I dread going to get my check,cause this fellow will be there in drag.
And get this he shows up at one of our small town highschool graduations in drag.

How old is too old to not look dowdy????? I love my hair and wear it down almost all the time. I did not used to do so though because I had been told many times that it was sensual. I finally realized that it is and that I cannot help the God given beauty that has been bestowed upon me so to that I say be yourself and love it. For me it also depends on whether the ministry I am preaching for feels a conviction over me wearing it down. Usually it does not matter as I have extremely curly black hair. I have in times past only worn it up due to the teachings of a particular pastor etc. I am thankful my husband loves it down and encourages me to be more lady like. Please no one take offense at this. Your hair is between you and Jesus as is mine. I for one dedicated my hair to Jesus and decided not to cut it. From the consensus I have heard from the male of the species it seems men like women to have long hair.

Yes, I realize that men can still like what they see even if it's in a burlap sack. LOL!!!! That doesn't mean wearing a burlap sack is "sensual"--even if some man thinks it sexy.

Obviously having short hair does not equate looking "butch", as Brittany Murphy (and Audrey Hepburn) clearly example.
I do agree that long hair is ultra-feminine, but that doesn't mean women with short hair can't or don't look feminine. It's the overall picture and attitude that makes a woman look butch.
