So, Ted Cruz is a natural born citizen by being born to an American mother having her citizenship when Ted was born?
"natural born citizen"?
OK, then if a woman is an American, and her child is born in Mexico, lives there for 4 years, then when he becomes an adult he can run for president?
Sounds like Germany, a child born outside of Germany is still a German because the mother is German.
I think we are being set up for something further down the road.

A US citizen whose child is born abroad is by operation of law, a natural born citizen. That is a fact.
John McCain was born in Panama. He was a natural born citizen because his parents were US citizens. George Romney, Mitt Romney’s father, was born in Mexico when his parents were Mormon missionaries. Barry Goldwater was born in Arizona before Arizona was a state and just a territory.
Ted Cruz’s parents were working in the oil and gas business in Calgary. His mother was a US citizen who registered him with the US Consulate when he was born, which is what she should have done.
Just because someone is working in another country, for a time, and gives birth to a child doesn’t take away their US citizenship for heaven’s sake.
I have no idea what the big deal is here, unless people really want to make sure Hillary is our next president.
There are no other facts that can be given except the clear fact that is available - TED CRUZ is a US citizen. Goodness.

You don't have to be on any team, but please don't pay your taxes and you can real Psalm 2 all day long in jail. Because, the United States has a government in place, and when we live here, we abide by those laws of said government.
Whatever we disagree upon, we have a democratic right to petition the people in order to make changes. Right now, we are trying to change who is running our country. It is part of the process.
So, why are you on this thread?

Sister, John McCain was born on a military installation in the Canal Zone, where his mother and father, a Navy officer, were stationed. What country was Arizona in 1909? Sister Arizona was a United State's territory, but was admitted to the US 1912. The George W. Romney situation is a mess, and I believe complicated as a smacked bee hive. But George W. Romney's grandparents never relinquished their United States citizenship, and when George W. Romney's was born they registered him as a United States citizen. I always believed that George W. Romney was a Mexican. Ted Cruz was born in Calgary Canada, claimed to be a United States citizen due to his mom. So, I guess just like the Mexican Mormon polygamist George W. Romney, Ted Cruz can also become a carrot on a stick. Thank you sister for reminding me about G. W. Romney.
Yet, I must keep reminding everyone that you will not get the president who will turn any of this garbage around (I hope I'm wrong) but just another NWO stooge. Looking for anything positive to come out of politics in this day and age, is like believing a rabid Pit Bull is going to be a nice lap dog for the children.

Sister, do you believe there is corruption in the United State's government?
If you say yes, to what degree?

I have seen and experienced corruption in the church. I didn't stop going to church.

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
Good article written for the Harvard Law Review, March 11, 2015 by Neal Katyal & Paul Clement, former US Solicitor Generals. Full article is worth the read, but below is their take on Cruz, McCain, Goldwater and Romney.
" While the field of candidates for the next presidential election is still taking shape, at least one potential candidate, Senator Ted Cruz, was born in a Canadian hospital to a U.S. citizen mother.
Despite the happenstance of a birth across the border, there is no question that Senator Cruz has been a citizen from birth and is thus a “natural born Citizen” within the meaning of the Constitution. Indeed, because his father had also been resident in the United States, Senator Cruz would have been a “natural born Citizen” even under the Naturalization Act of 1790."
"Similarly, in 2008, one of the two major party candidates for President, Senator John McCain, was born outside the United States on a U.S. military base in the Panama Canal Zone to a U.S. citizen parent.
Despite a few spurious suggestions to the contrary, there is no serious question that Senator McCain was fully eligible to serve as President, wholly apart from any murky debate about the precise sovereign status of the Panama Canal Zone at the time of Senator McCain’s birth."
"And for the same reasons, both Senator Barry Goldwater and Governor George Romney were eligible to serve as President although neither was born within a state. Senator Goldwater was born in Arizona before its statehood and was the Republican Party’s presidential nominee in 1964, and Governor Romney was born in Mexico to U.S. citizen parents and unsuccessfully pursued the Republican nomination for President in 1968."
"To serve, an individual must be at least thirty-five years old and a “natural born Citizen.” Thirty-four and a half is not enough and, for better or worse, a naturalized citizen cannot serve. But as Congress has recognized since the Founding, a person born abroad to a U.S. citizen parent is generally a U.S. citizen from birth with no need for naturalization. And the phrase “natural born Citizen” in the Constitution encompasses all such citizens from birth. Thus, an individual born to a U.S. citizen parent — whether in California or Canada or the Canal Zone — is a U.S. citizen from birth and is fully eligible to serve as President if the people so choose."

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
Thank you, David.
This is the exact law at the time of Ted Cruz's birth:
Quote:
Automatic U.S. Citizenship for Children by Birth To Citizen Parents (Acquisition)
Child Born Between December 24, 1952, and November 13, 1986
If at the time of your birth, both your parents were U.S. citizens and at least one had a prior residence in the U.S., you automatically acquired U.S. citizenship, with no other conditions for keeping it. If only one parent was a U.S. citizen at the time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the U.S. for at least ten years, and at least five of those years must have been after your parent reached the age of 14.

She isn't qualified, but Ted Cruz is. Not only has he always been a US citizen, he has lived in America for 41 years.
