Thank God the apostles didn't "submit" when they spoke similar words to what I suggested in Acts 5.

I never said she should speak in tongues there. I suggested an appropriate response to someone asking her to basically quench the Spirit if it moved.

Then let them make the decision...chances are, they'll change their mind.

I do not believe we should ever allow someone else to dictate whether or not we will speak about Jesus or worship Him. Look at what Daniel did, in defiance to what he was told? He worshipped 3 times a day as he had always done.

When there is presented a choice between worshipping God or denying any aspect of our faith, we have to make that choice. To cave in, or to even say nothing, is, in my mind, denying Christ.

I think being straightforward and honest is what Paul would do. I can't imagine Paul saying, "Okay, I won't mention the name of Jesus," or, "Alright, I promise not to talk in tongues." Jesus broke all kinds of religious rules.

I say that folks know who you are and what you believe in, and they will respect you less if you cave in to their requests. I think if you stand up for what you believe in, God opens the doors...you don't need men to open them for you, and God can change their minds and soften their hearts and remove their objections.
Perhaps they weren't offered the right price? Some folks will do anything to see their name in the bright lights of a little known meeting.

PP, I totally understand what got you upset. There's just some thing people shouldn't mess with.
I don't understand why every one cares so much either. Thanks for the back-up Rico!

Look I understand Paul taught that it is better to prophesy then to speak in tongues in the church, but the real problem here seems to be that the issue of not letting the Spirit move is even a consideration.

It absolutely is in many cases. People choose to speak in tongues or not.

Noway... this is SOOOOO FUNNY!

I do have a fee, however I have 5 on my staff in the US.

They must eat, also I have 17 on staff in Uganda and 25 children.

I don't do what I do for money,however I have a large budget.

I've been traveling for 17 years, the bright lights do nothing for me. Sorry... YOU ARE DEAD WRONG!
