You still haven't proved how it is normal, let alone sinful.
You want me to prove role-playing and sexual games are normal? Where do you live? Also, I'm not proving they are sinful, that was your case. Not sure what you meant here.

What are you talking about here? What do you mean "will" your way to righteousness? How about understanding if a man and his wife think that porn is a good thing to spice up a marriage, will only find out that someone's feelings are going to get hurt in the long run. Role playing my be what one side is into, and the weaker side may be coerced into, but after it's all said and done someone is going to be adversely affected. So how can that be a good thing? Usually, it's the knuckle head husband who wants the role playing, and the poor woman feels the pressure to comply with her bone head ol man.
I'm talking about the idea that some think if you just "will" hard enough, you can be righteous. It's amusing, sorry.

As far as saying it's all the knucklehead husband:

1) No one should participate in anything if both parties aren't comfortable. Love and consideration here is most important.

2) You don't give women enough credit. I can't speak for other's wives... but, I think you have a dim picture of female sexuality. Or maybe my perception is just too bright. Don't know.

I guess how you believe that Apostolic Pentecostal Holiness people should be super freaks behind doors?
YES! Well... if they want to. But some on here suggest its sinful.

If it's behind closed doors with one's spouse where is the condemnation?

Perhaps we need to establish a set of rules for married couples govern their bedroom behaviors by.

Personally... I feel it should be a loving, and sometimes playful, celebration. There is no condemnation if both parties are happy with their love play.

Yep. As long as it's OK with God, that is. (Still waiting on that list! )

I think MB is more balanced than that though, so I'll give her the benefit of doubt. We remain pure by fighting the good fight. I'm not sure if I can call myself pure if I mess up a little or a lot. Or even exactly what "a little" is (fantasized thoughts before marriage?). Am I pure in heart by being perfect or by "hungering and thirsting" after righteousness (thanks Aquila)? Or are these two identical?

Wait, what are we arguing again??? lol
I'm not saying everyone will remain 100% sexually pure--and I acknowledge that that may be more difficult for men than women, although obviously not in every case. It is possible, even though weaknesses are inherent to our nature, but it is impossible to avoid struggle or temptation. What we can avoid is giving in to temptation. Knowing that something is probable or likely doesn't give us leave to make it permissible.

I'm just saying that it's important to recognize impurity as sin and keep striving to do better. Giving up and giving in aren't viable options.

Simply "feeling" a hunger and thirst for righteousness isn't enough. Lots of people want to be good, but they may think it's too much effort or they may feel too condemned over their failures to put in an effort. The Bible doesn't say "feel spiritual" and you won't fulfill the lust of the flesh. It says walk in the spirit....

Walk - from Strong's:
to tread all around, that is, walk at large (especially as proof of ability); figuratively to live, deport oneself, follow (as a companion or votary): - go, be occupied with, walk (about).

You must actively walk in the spirit--follow, be occupied with, tread all around, live in the spirit, deport oneself in the spirit....

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

The order of events in James is:

1. Submit...to God.
2. Resist the devil
3. He will flee from you

Action first, victory second. It doesn't say that the devil will flee from you when you make up your mind to resist him or when you "feel" like you should submit to God.

Living a righteous life requires focus, purpose, intent, and our best effort. If we fail to walk in the spirit, our flesh will win out, and we have only ourselves to blame. If we do our best and still fail, grace is there to pick us up so we can try again.

The law was given to us to reveal what constitutes sin; grace was given to teach us how to overcome sin--not to give us permission to continue in sin unchecked.

Re: Ministries for women porn addicts

MB, I'm not a proponent of continuing in sin. Don't know where you got that.

I just realize my status, apart from Christ's work, is still guilty.

I allow sanctification to push me toward true discipleship, and that includes all the wonderful things you just types. However, I realize, that any "overcoming" is a work of the Spirit active in my life, and not about my "strong will," "want to" or anything else human. It's all back to faith. I believe Jesus, and that helps me overcome.
