Re: Hurricane Gustav

The wind is picking up here. What we get may come in at night.

Not expecting much, some wind and rain.

I'm glad we didn't evacuate with the masses.

Of course, there is always the possiblity of tornadoes, but the interesting thing is where we WHERE going is going to get the brunt of the storm compared to us.

My Mom has LOTS of very TALL trees! I pray they are safe!

Re: Hurricane Gustav

Just talked to my Parents in Baton Rouge- They live in on a 3 acre lot with lots of trees- They have been getting 60 to 90 mile and hour wind gust and have 6 trees down. No trees have hit the house yet. He sounded pretty shaky- said this was the worse that BR had gotten in several years. Of course there is no electricity and there is a curfew. No one is allowed on the road.

I pray that they don't get any trees on their home or any damaged to it, and also for their safety.

Re: Hurricane Gustav

I'm in Mobile, AL and we all breathed a huge sigh of relief. To whomever had family stuck in one of our downtown hotels, I'm sure they're quite fine. Water Street probably has flood water over it.

Re: Hurricane Gustav

Talked with my parents again. They are without electricity- and have 8 trees down. They are safe, but hot and dark. They are going to our house tomorrow and set up the generator. My sister has twelve trees down at her house. According to the news they had winds 92 miles an hour in Baton Rouge.
