I have not read all of this thread yet, so my fingers are probably getting ahead of my good sense.

Rev. Epley, if I have contributed to this, please forgive me. That was not my intention in any of my postings. I am not Pentecost, but have known some very fine Pentecost people.

I would say, however, that I do feel all people who are serious about their relationship with God should understand what they believe and why for themselves. It should not be that they believe something because Grandma So and So or Aunt Such and Such or Pastor Somebody said that is the way it is and so they've just gone along because it is easier that way. Have the courage of their own convictions, so to speak.

Again, if I have been unkind or negative to Pentecost and cause hurt or harm to any here, I am sorry.

Nothings easy Brother, that's the reality of the apostolic life. If it were easy then everyone would be doing it and we would all be living in Utopia, Brigadoon, and Shangri la. We come through the doors hit the altar blow snot bubbles and pray through speak in tongues and then get baptized in Jesus name. We then are taught and preached to and we learn to praise and worship. Through all this we learn that not all the wonderful looking people who were shouting and running the pews are "wonderful" or "godly" we get brought back to earth when one of those sweet saints of god sink their teeth into one of our legs. We stand their in horror and with a glazed look we shake our head and say "my God I thought they were supposed to have the Holy Ghost", but guess what not everything that says Lord, Lord will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

The faster we learn that some people are obstacles and spiritual land mines the faster we can go forward to the next level in Christ. We are on our journey on Spiritual Maturity. Be ye perfect as your father in heaven is perfect. Complete and entire wanting nothing being careful for nothing. No offence can shake you because you're immersed in the Holy Ghost.

Is it easy? No way, Jesus said the path was tight, and the gate small and narrow, and that many were called but only few were chosen.

Jesus said DENY YOURSELF, so then you have to die out to self and go on to the next battle with joy and victory.

Brother I have been there and I lived through it, and I will have to go through it again. It's a hard road, the cross is rugged and Jesus told us to pick up the cross and follow Him. The problem is that no one wants to follow.
They would rather follow some man who will use them and abuse them then follow the true Apostle Jesus Christ.

No body knows the trouble I've seen; no body knows my sorrow. My Brother everyone who’s ever shouted off a pew has been slapped back to reality.
We have all had our feelings hurt and been wounded, and we have scared armor, but we soldier on towards Jesus and we never mind the winds and the waves. Well, we shouldn't anyhow. That is where prayer, intense prayer comes in and worship.

It sure would change the drama if there were more men stepping up to bat.

1Th 5:21 "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."

1Jo 4:1

"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."

Rev 2:2

"I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast NOT fainted."

Pro 14:15

"The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going."

The blame game doesn't fly, if we took the time to get into the book and prayer after we had hit the altar and were baptized in Jesus name, we would have faired way better.

Blaming the man behind the pulpit may make an indivual feel better, but it won't make them be better.

In Jesus name

I do have rather self-impressive moments of intelligent thought...which are all (well mostly) expended here, on this forum. That leaves my crazy side for my close friends and family.
Your post made perfect sense to me!

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
