The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
( Jeremiah 17:9)
When we are convinced solely by our own mind, then we fall victim to the deceitfulness and wickedness in place therein. We must be fully convinced solely by the Word of God, not what we think or believe.
So, when one says they are convinced by their own mind, that means very, very little in the eyes of God. What does the Word say, and has the Word convinced your mind?

Actually, I have not celebrated paganalia in some years now. Some buy me gifts, but I have never taken part. I tell people all the time that I do not celebrate this pagan holy day, and that true believers should have no part dark either.

You should really dig what's coming out of your own mouth.

I don't claim to be religious... I am living my life and if God wants to torture me for eternity because of that, then I will deal with that when I die... just like anyone else.

The Virgin Birth did not take place on 12/25. According to what one can extrapolate from scripture, Jesus was most likely born in September. Why celebrate and mix paganism with Christianity?

Re: We're Not Putting X-Mas Trees Up!
Last time, those who love Jesus will keep His commandments, and that does mena those also given through the Apostles as well. 2Corinthians 6:14-18 is a call to holiness, to not mix our beliefs with those of darkness.

I won't try to change your mind if you won't try to change my mind.

Re: We're Not Putting X-Mas Trees Up!
Folks, this is a forum which claims to be Apostolic. Apostolic simply meas adhering to the teachings of Jesus and His Apostles. One of the most basic and fundamental teachings is that of holiness in all manner of conversation, separation from all things dark, and being true while proclaiming truth. It is not about being a mind changer, but being a heart changer. We are called to holiness and godliness, and this is something we must be. No amount of liberalism or carnality will change what truly being Apostolic is all about.
I started posting back here, simply because this place is more of a liberal den of ecumenicalism instead of being a place of Apostolic fellowship. And, there is a great need for voices, whether ministerial or laymen, to speak the truth. regardless of what one thinks, we are called to holiness before God and man in all manner of conversation.
This includes what we partake in. Should we, as holy people of the sacred name, profane that name among the Gentiles by casting our lot with paganism and darkness? No. Xmas is not a holy day. I thank God for His days, which are holy before Him everyday.
