I have been posting for a while and have gotten good pm's.
I have been a mod on another board for a few years and the experience has been good.People have come and preached for us and we have made valuable
friendships.Never has lawsuit type stuff come my way.I have even met
people from the forums at major conferences. There are aot of genuine folks
that post here and on GNC.

You know..... When reading the new testament, you see Jesus taking abuse from a multitude of people. The ONLY ones he ever got genuinly angry at where the religious leaders. And after seeing some posts from those "Contentious Contenders", it is easy to see why. "No one wearing a wedding band would be allowed in OUR church." is an example of such a post.

I have had people send "troubling" pm's to me as well..... and have heard from Admins that others have complained about me over some of the silliest things. It always comes down to protecting religious tradition and the fear of losing control over those who "follow you".

What you describe is what I've described as the ministry of Caiphas in this thread:

Insecure, prideful men in power in ANY type of organization, 'religious' or otherwise, will do all kinds of unholy things to keep their power.

My advice is to never post anything of a personal nature here. Don't post where you live, where you work, where you pastor - nothing.

Also be careful what you share in a pm. That info could be forwarded.

Not trying to be an alarmist here, just sharing my experiences.
Wow...and I just shared what soaps I use...I hope that doesnt come back to haunt me....

That is true bro Ron....

But against a back drop of holiness, love and righteousness, the contrast reveals the greater wickedness.
