Actually, Dems and Repubs do share one common ground, the lust for power and control over the States and people.

I just dont think holding the threat of a Govt shutdown over everyone's head is the way to go. Spin it and blame it on who you want. If you know Obama isnt going to defund Obamacare, why keep on trying? Yes Obama is using the threat to shutdown the Govt it they try to defund the bill. So what does the so called conservatives do? They still try to defund it. Makes perfect sense.
When does a Congressmen get to side with the people he represents? If not now, when? We are done as a country if we retain the status quo. Someone must have courage. This country was built on courage and honor, we need that now. We have some men who are wiling and I stand with them.

The Gang of Three - Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and Mike Lee

Others are standing for the defunding - Justin Amash, Raul Labrador, Jim DeMint and others.

Its interesting that Warren Buffett (an Obama supporter) has just come out saying that the Bamster needs to scrap the affordable care act. This could add some momentum to the movement.

They will be deciding today and I understand that the Democrats are planning a walk out.

House GOP to push CR defunding Obamacare

My main concern and question would be - Why in the world would anyone agree to hand this over to the IRS for heaven's sake?

House Oversight Subcomittee Looks at ACA Implementation

Wednesday, September 18, 2013

The House Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Job Creation and Regulatory Affairs takes a look at the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as Obamacare, a key portion of which is set to come online on October 1.

State health care exchanges, which will allow individuals to purchase health insurance and will offer subsidies to people making below 400 percent of the federal poverty line, open on October 1. Uninsured individuals are required to purchase health insurance by January 1, 2014, or face a penalty.

Some exchanges are being run by the states, or by a federal-state partnership. For states declining to set up their own exchanges, the federal government will administer exchanges for their citizens.

Four state officials, all from states with Republican governors, testify at this hearing. All four states have declined to set up their own exchanges, along with 23 other states.

The House of Representatives, controlled by Republicans, has voted 41 times to repeal, defund or delay the Affordable Health Care Act.

This hearing is jointly hosted by the Energy Policy, Health Care and Entitlements Subcommittee.

Don't know what was really gained by this meeting today. Each side leaving with the same view.

Darrell Issa brought up the only good points - the affordability and the privacy.

Privacy was discussed less than anything.

Meeting now on the funding of the government and defunding of Obamacare. Tedious going over various bills. Don't know at what point of this session Obamacare will be brought up.
