Hehe. Alas. Saw this the other day but really didn't want to comment on it, but then I got to thinking, if people don't know "who is who", how can they know "what is what"?
JD is a good guy and I am just "ribbing" a bit.

Being an ex-union employee, you always wanted to keep the threat of violence in everyone's mind.
Not actual violence, unless you are in a strike or vote situation, but the threat.

Funding for the U.N.
Salaries for Reps., Senators, President, and the high level bureaucrats.
State Welfare (Funding given to the states for various unnecessary projects)

Jay, I like the cuts you propose however unless Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security and Defense spending is addressed, we will never solve the spending issue.
Raise the retirement age to 70, cut out prescription drug benefit that Bush signed into law, cut Medicaid and Medicare fraud, make Iraq, South Korea, Taiwan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and other nations pay for our military's presence.

I suggest:
eliminate HUD
eliminate any funding to PBS
eliminate funding to Planned Parenthood
eliminate the Dept. of Education
Cut all foreign aid by 10 percent
Eliminate foreign aid to Hamas, Hezbollah, Pakistan, and any other hostile group
Eliminate any funding to the UN and evict them from our country

There is a very simple cure to these programs. Remove the payment cap. I have to pay on every dollar earned, make the rich do the same.

More money in the hands of the government is the answer? You don't get it, Light. The are spend-happy with other people's money, but not so when its their own. The "bleeding heart" liberal is usually found to be a skin-flint when it comes to their own money given to charity. Al Gore gave less than $ 1,000 one year to charity. Dick Cheney gave millions that same year.
Take more from the rich and watch them move their businesses and industries to other countries, freeze hiring, cease job creation, etc. The rich pay 70% of all taxes anyway. They pay MORE than their fair share.
Stop the spending! Cut the spending! We can't continue paying out entitlements for every demographic and constituency.

Yea give these rich people the breaks on the back of the middle class and the poor. Why don't you just ask the IRS to remove all rich people from the tax rolls? Lord we can't ask a billionaire to pay he might get up set.

Light - no matter how much money you give the government it will never be enough, they will spend it all.
The company I work for is the largest non-military supplier of the federal government. When the federal year-end rolls around, we get ready for very large orders from them.
The reason - if they don't spend all the money they are given this year, they will be budgeted for less, next year.
Great way for our tax dollars to be used, right?

On the backs of the middle class? Seriously? First 50% of Americans pay ZERO taxes. Second, the government is the one taxing the middle class not rich people. Rich people are the job creators who are making it possible for the middle class have employment. The government is the task master here, not rich folks.
